어머니의 우울성향에 따른 아동의 사회적 능력 = Maternal depression and their children's social competency

국문 초록 (Abstract)

어머니의 정서는 아동의 발달에 결정적인 영향을 미친다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 어머니의 우울성향과 아동의 사회적 능력과의 관계를 살펴보고, 어머니의 우울성향에 따른 아동의 사회적 능력의 하위요인들(주도성, 개방성, 사교성, 책임감)은 성별, 연령에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는지 알아보고자 하였다.
본 연구에서는 다음과 같이 연구문제를 설정하였다.
1. 어머니의 우울성향과 아동의 사회적 능력은 어떠한 관계가 있는가?
2. 어머니의 우울성향에 따른 아동의 사회적 능력의 하위요인들은 아동의 성별, 연령에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는가?
1) 어머니의 우울성향에 따라 아동의 주도성은 성별, 연령에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는가?
2) 어머니의 우울성향에 따라 아동의 개방성은 성별, 연령에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는가?
3) 어머니의 우울성향에 따라 아동의 사교성은 성별, 연령에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는가?
4) 어머니의 우울성향에 따라 아동의 책임감은 성별, 연령에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는가?
본 연구에서는 서울시에 위치한 국민학교 3학년과 중학교 1학년 남녀 아동의 어머니 338명을 연구대상으로 하였는데, 우울성향이 경한 어머니 78명과 자료처리상 1부가 제외되어 261명의 자료만이 사용되었다.
본 연구의 측정도구는 어머니용으로 구성된 것으로 어머니의 우울성향은 Beck의 우울척도를 사용하였으며, 아동의 사회적 능력은 이경희가 어머니용으로 제작한 사회적 능력 평가 척도를 사용하였다.
자료 분석과 통계절차를 살펴보면, 338명의 자료 중 261부가 사용되었으며, 어머니의 우울성향과 아동의 사회적 능력과의 관계를 살펴보기 위하여 평균과 표준편차, 변량분석이 사용되었으며, 또한 어머니의 우울성향에 따른 아동의 사회적 능력의 하위요인인 주도성, 개방성, 사교성, 책임감은 성별과 연령에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는지 알아보기 위하여 변량분석이 사용되었으며, 상호작용 효과를 구체적으로 보기 위하여 평균과 표준편차가 사용되었다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 어머니의 우울성향과 아동의 사회적 능력과의 관계는 매우 유의하게 나타났다. 즉, 정상 어머니의 아동의 사회적 능력이 우울성향이 강한 어머니의 아동의 사회적 능력보다 높았다.
둘째, 어머니의 우울성향에 따른 아동의 주도성은 연령에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 즉, 아동의 주도성은 연령이 증가하면서 우울한 어머니의 영향을 적게 받는 것으로 나타났다.
또한 어머니의 우울성향에 따른 아동의 주도성은 성별에 따라 유의미한 차이가 없었다.
셋째, 어머니의 우울성향에 따른 아동의 개방성은 성별과 연령에 따라 유의한 차이가 없었다. 즉, 아동의 개방성은 성별과 연령에 관계없이 정상 어머니의 아동의 개방성이 우울성향이 강한 어머니의 아동의 개방성보다 높은 것으로 나타났다.
넷째, 어머니의 우울성향에 따른 아동의 사교성은 연령에 따라서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 즉, 아동의 사교성은 연령이 증가하면서 우울한 어머니의 영향을 적게 받는 것으로 나타났다.
또한 어머니의 우울성향에 따른 아동의 사교성은 아동의 성별에 따라 유의미한 차이가 없었다.
다섯째, 어머니의 우울성향에 따른 아동의 책임감은 연령에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 즉, 아동의 책임감은 연령이 증가하면서 우울한 어머니의 영향을 적게 받는 것으로 나타났다.
또한 어머니의 우울성향에 따른 아동의 책임감은 성별에 따라 유의미한 차이가 없었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was conducted to find relationship between maternal depression and their children's social competency.
The subjects in this study were 261 mothers(116 children from third grade in elementary schools and 145 children from first grade in middle school).
Instrument used for this study were Beck Depression Instrument (Beck, 1978) and Social Competency Questionnaire (that revised Lee, Kyung Hee, 1994).
The research questions were as follows:
1. Is there any relationship between maternal depression and their children's social competency?
2. Is there any relationship between maternal depression and their children's four area of social competency by sex, age?
1) Is there any relationship between maternal depression and their children's initiative by sex, age?
2) Is there any relationship between maternal depression and their children's self-disclose by sex, age?
3) Is there any relationship between maternal depression and their children's sociability by sex, age?
4) Is there any relationship between maternal depression and their children's responsibility sex, age?
The results of this study were:
1. that there were significant correlations between maternal depression and their children's social competency. Children's Social Competency are very low according to maternal depression so high than low depression.
2. 1) Children' initiative from third in elementary than Children' initiative from first in middle school are very low according to maternal depression so high than low depression. There were no differences in relationships between maternal depression and their initiative by sex of child.
2) There were no differences in relationships between maternal depression and their self-disclose by sex of child and age of child.
3) Children' sociability from third in elementary than Children' sociability from first in middle school are very low according to maternal depression so high than low depression. There were no differences in relationships between maternal depression and their sociability sex of child.
4) Children' responsibility from third in elementary than Children' responsibility from first in middle school are very low according to maternal depression so high than low depression.
There were no differences in relationships between maternal depression and their responsibility by sex of child.
