A. Objective of the study
This study aims at understanding high school students' value tendencies, analyzing their values in terms of several factors and therefore acquiring the educational materials for a correct value formation which is relevant to their levels.
B. Contents
This study analyzed the consequences of questionnaires which are divided into four items-high school students' attitudes toward filial duty, sex, occupation and society in order to investigate their value behaviors.
C. Methods
This study selected 382 students who are in the 2nd grade of the senior high school in Chungbuk Province, divided them into regional, departmental and sexual groups and investigated their sense of values. The questionnaires consists of 25 items, which are their attitudes toward filial duty, sex, occupation and society, respectively. This study converted consequences into percentage and calculated the positive meaningfulness among region, department and sex through x^2 verification.
D. Consequences
Firstly, in general, students have a traditional value disposition but they are changing toward a more realistic and more rational thought.
Secondly, students' values are analysed as follows:
1) Students want a rational filial duty rather than a formal one.
2) As for sex, students make much of a reciprocal respect and equality with other sex.
3) In choosing their occupations, students show utility and avoidance of hard work.
4) Students want mutual trust and social justice to be realized. Besides, they dislike other person's interference and tend to be individual and egoistic.
Thirdly, as a result of analysis, there was no prominent difference in students' regions and departments. In sex, however, male students had a traditional and conservative value disposition while female students had a rational and realistic one.
