1.PROBLEM
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between teacher's empathic understanding and student's school learning attitude.
For this purpose, the following hypotheses are set up.
There will be differences in student's school learning attitudes according to teacher's empathic understanding.
1.There will be differences in sex distintion toward teacher's empathic understanding.
1.There will be differences in regional distintion toward teacher's empathic understanding.
3.There will be differences in student's school learning attitudes toward teacher's empathic understanding.
4.There will be differences in explanation of student's school learning attitudes subfactor's toward teacher's empathic understanding.
¥±.METHODS
1.Subject
To test these hypotheses, 129 six grade students in elementary in seoul, 120 six grade students in elementary in cheong-yang were sampled as subjects of this study.
2.Instruments
Two instruments were used for this study.
1)"Teacher's Empathic Understanding Scale" was developed by Yoon pyo-Joung(1993) to measure teacher's empathic understanding levels.
2)"School Learning Attitude Scale" was developed by Jung Mi-Sook (1991) to measure student/s school learning attitude.
3.Procedures
The data was analyzed by the statistical method of ¡ºt-test¡»,¡ºMultiple regression¡», taking advantage by SPSS/PC
¥².RESULTS
1.There aren't significant differences in sex distinction toward teacher's empathic teacher's empathic understanding. (p<.001)
2.There are significant differences in regional distinction toward teacher's empathic understanding. (p<.001)
3.There are significant differences in student's school learning attitudes toward the levels of teacher's empathic understanding. (p<.001)
4.There are significant differences in explanation of student's school learning attitude subfactors toward teacher's empathic understanding.
IV. DISCUSSION
From this study, it was observed that there are significant differences in student's school learning attitudes toward the levels of teacher's empathic understanding. Therefore, teacher's empathic understanding has a positive relation with student's school learning attitudes.
