This study, on the condition that the dancing education of elementary school should be directed by responsible experts, with an idea that the dancing education can improve the creativity of children by movements, aims to being a reference of the planning of a better dancing education by a concrete comprehension of the general recognition of dancing, the difference between public and private school and so on. We have got the conclusions as follows.
With these purposes, we examined the status of dancing education and we arrived to the conclusions described below.
(1) In the study of the present status of dancing education, there is no significant difference between public and private school in that the dancing education is accomplished in parallel with the physical education. In contrast with the public schools carrying with the dancing education sticking to the educational curriculum of the Ministry of Education, the private ones deal with their own programs or purposes.
(2) In the response to the dancing education, the majority like it because they have some interest in dancing and there is no difference between public and private in the reason for joying it.
(3) In the present status of responsible teachers, there are a few in the private schools, but in general they are in need of expert teachers, recognizing the lack of ability to educate dancing.
(4) In the distribution of dancing room, it is absent in almost all schools but in general they use the gymnasium or ground in dancing education time.
Public and private schools all feel the need for dancing education room seriously.
(5) In the necessity of dancing education in elementary school, the public and the private all emphasize the necessity of dancing education and require improvement of dancing room and tools.
As described above, recognizing the significance and necessity of the dancing education in elementary school, the dancing education is not carried well because of insufficient dancing tools, equipment and responsible teachers.
Especially the private school's performance is unsatisfactory while the public school's is achieved according to the Enforcement Ordinance of the Ministry of Education. As shown before they all claim improvement in the responsible teacher and equipment and feel the need for education greatly.
In spite of the limitations of arbitrariness in getting samples and following lack of representativeness, this study contributes to some extent as it shows the situation of elementary dancing education and the difference between the public and private. I shall have the fortune to offer some help to the teachers of elementary school, and I will make this study more detailed and more rational in succession.
