The purpose of this study is to find out the working conditions and its improvement measures in nursury care, such as the content of nursery education, retraining of the mursery teachers, working hours and overtime working hours salary satisfaction, and the difficulties in taking care of the nursery.
A lot of data was gathered and analysed from the corpus to check out a proper theory form the epistemological view. To investigate the actual conditions of the nursery facilities in Chung-chong Buk-do area this study carry out the questionnaire survey from 181 nursery teachers.
Data were analyzed by the computer system, SPSS/PC+ was used for statistical analysis. χ^2 was adopted to know a percentage for frequency analysis and the difference among variables.
The results of this study are as follows.
1) 54.1% of the nursery teachers are working 10 to 12 hours a day. This result represents that most of the nursery teachers are doing over-load work. Accordingly, the working hours of the nursery teachers should be decreased to a level of portal-to-portal 8-hour work.
2) 91.6% of the nursery teachers do not receive the allowance for overtime work so it is necessary that the authority should supervise the nursery facilities to keep their daties.
3) 90% of the nursery teachers have dissatisfaction on their payment. So it is necessary that the wage of the nursery teachers should be raised to a level of kindergatener or other social workers serving in public welfare facilities.
4) The retraining programs give much help to the nursery teachers in teaching nursery. But 50% of them did not get the opportunity to retrain programs.
In short, it appears that the rate of satisfaction in personal relationships and autonomy is high, but the rate of satisfaction in wage, retraining Opportunity, interest of the higher agencies and the working conditions is law.
This study is limited to the mursery facilities in Chung-chong Buk-do area, while it is desirable to broaden the study to a nationwide.
