"SAMGUK-SAGI"(三國史記) and "SAMGUK-YUSA"(三國遺史) are very important classics of having to study ancient history and Korean language. We have a few studies of data on Korean language. So this is the serious obstacles of ancient studies of Koreanlanguage. The term about different-transcription is the unique transcriptional system carried only in these books.
The different-transcription called from here is to be recorded equally the same object of names of people, geography, and object. Under signature being expressed continuously as in 'il-un'(一元), 'il-chak'(一作), 'hok-un'(或元) etc. This is seperated into following three kinds largely.
㉠ An occasion written down different-transcription continuously
㉡ An occasion written down different-transcription in completely different positions at the same book.
㉢ An occasion written down differently in the books but same things.
The numbers of fora of different-transcription are that there are 15 in SAGI and 39 in YUSA, therefore all the different-transcription are 631. In these, il-un occurred 257, and il-chak 123, hok-un 114, so lost of the different-transcriptions belong to these three kinds.
The lists of different-transcription are that there are 332 in SAGI, and 185 in YUSA, so all come to 514 totally. In addition, the lists in king Kyôngdôk' speriod are 423, including names of changed ones, geography object and if summing 72 geographical names of old Koguryo and Paekche in the Sagi volume 37, they are all 1012.
I intend to research in this thesis that after analyzing these data, I abstract phonemical features of ancient Korean language and moreover, my thesis is based on researching etymology of each vocabularies. At first, in this thesis I show the lists of then, after classifying naJae's method of people, geography country, king, object and government official orderly, and then. I analyzed sounds to sounds in comparison 1, and translations to sounds in comparison 2. On the course of analyzing these lists, I didn't explain etyaology of each vocabulary. That's why I think that this may spoil objective analysis of data.
The data of this thesis was seperated into three kinds largely. First, there are different-transcriptions being found out here and there. Second, there are changed names in king Kyongdok and geographical names appearing in voluae 34~37 in SAGI. Third, there are the data of old Koguryô's and Paekche's geographical names in a volume 34~37 in SAGI.
I will sum up the conclusions of analysis in the followings.
