The purpose of this study is to examine the experiences and perceptions of education for the fathers of double-income families with young children, and to find out what the demands for participation in education are, and what the demands and priorities for the contents of the father's education are. Thus, the following research questions were selected.
First, how is the educational experience and perception of dual-income fathers with young children?
Second, what is the summary of how to operate education for dual-income fathers with young children?
Third, what are the needs and priorities of dual-income fathers with young children?
In order to find out about such research issues, the research was conducted on fathers of dual-income families who had young children, and to select and cast targets, workers' support daycare centers, workplace facilities, and national and public daycare centers were selected first. Prior to the study, he visited each daycare center in person to explain the purpose of the study through prior interviews with the director, and conducted it with the consent of 18 institutions in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Sejong, and used the questionnaire to find out the father's education experience, perceptions, demands for education, and needs and priorities of education contents. A frequency analysis was conducted to identify the demographic characteristics of respondents, and a corresponding sample t verification was conducted to verify the difference between the current level and the required level (to verify that the differences between the two levels were statistically significant). The Borich requirement formula was used to check the requirements and priorities of each item, and the results of the research on the research questions were as follows.
First of all, the results of educational experience and perception of fathers from dual-income families with young children showed that more fathers had no experience in father education, and the programs that participated in the program were often carried out on their own within institutions such as teachers and directors. In addition, there were many responses that the programs they participated in were helpful, and that there was no time for obstacles that could not participate, and that father education was not provided. Then, as a result of the need for education, the percentage of people who said it was necessary was much higher.
Second, as a result of the demand on how to operate the father's education for the fathers of dual-income families with young children, the demand for participatory programs, such as participation classes and camps, was high in the form of the education program, and on Saturdays, once a year, twice a year, the program's host preferred external professional instructors.
Third, the demand for the contents of the father's education and the result of priority were the highest for the desirable father's role as a result of comparing the six areas, followed by the demand for guidance on basic living habits for young children. Looking at the results of each sub-item, basic knowledge and education methods in each area showed the highest level of content on emotional development, while the basic lifestyle guidance for infants and toddlers had high demands for the tricky child education law. In the demand for creating an environment for young children, the highest demand was for how to create a stable atmosphere, and in the desirable role of a father, how to build a child's self-esteem. In communication with children, there was a high demand for communication methods to mediate conflicts between siblings, and in health, nutrition and safety management of infants, there was a high demand for ways to relieve infant stress.
Based on the above findings, this study has shown the needs and priorities of dual-income fathers with young children, which can be the basis for determining which education is essential for busy fathers and which is desirable to provide first with their children, and may help organize and provide various education programs for parents in infant education institutions.
