유아 숲 체험원에 대한 교사의 인식 및 개선방안

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유아 숲 체험원에 대한 교사의 인식 및 개선방안에 대하여 심층 인터뷰 방식을 통해 유아 교사가 인식하는 유아 숲 체험원의 인식과 그 개선방안을 알아봄으로써 앞으로 건설, 운영될 유아 숲 체험장을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 목적에 따라 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다.

연구문제 1. 유아 숲 체험원에 대한 교사들의 인식은 어떠한가?
연구문제 2. 교사들이 요구하는 유아 숲 체험원의 개선방안은 무엇인가?

이를 위해 본 연구자는 2019년 8월부터 9월까지 서울시 내에 위치한 국공립 어린이집, 민간 어린이집, 기타에 근무하는 교사 경력 2년부터 16년까지의 다양한 교사 총 9명을 대상으로 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였으며, 수집된 자료는 범주화, 최종 범주화, 연구 참여자 의도와 일치하는지 참여자 확인을 하였다. 심층 인터뷰 결과를 연구문제에 따라 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 유아 교사들은 숲 체험활동이 필요하며, 때문에 유아 숲 체험원을 이용한다. 교사들은 유아에게 적절한 유아 숲 강사는 유아 숲 지도사로 생각하며, 그 이유는 유아 숲 지도사가 가지는 전문적인 지식 때문이다. 유아 숲 체험원에 이루어지는 수업에 대해서는 유아 눈높이에 맞는 수업이 이루어질 때 가장 만족스럽다고 하였다. 또한 유아 숲 체험원에서 이루어지는 자유놀이에 대해서는 긍정적인 경험을 가진 교사만이 긍정적으로 생각하였다.
둘째, 유아 교사들은 유아 숲 체험원 개선방안에 대하여 접근성이 떨어지더라도 넓고 다양한 수생을 관찰하기를 원하였으며, 다양한 놀이시설의 배치를 원하였다. 또한 학부모 교육이 필요하며, 날씨에 관한 지자체 매뉴얼 개발이 필요하다 하였다. 마지막으로 유아교육 기관장의 운영방안이 확고해져서, 유아 숲 체험활동이 원활하길 원하였다.

본 연구는 유아 교사들이 인식하는 유아 숲 체험원과 그 개선방안에 대해 알아 볼 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 통해 유아 교사들이 인식하는 유아 숲 체험원이 어떠한지를 바탕으로 유아 숲 체험원을 새로 개설, 운영에 기여할 것으로 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to provide basic database for construction and operation of infant forest experience center by performing in-depth interview on teachers’ perception and idea of improvement. We have selected few study questionnaires according to the purpose.

Study issues 1. How do the teachers think about the child forest experience center project?
Study issues 2. What are the awareness of the improvement of child forest experience center.

For this purpose, researchers have performed in-depth interview on 9 selected individuals from August 2019 to September 2019 to the national public infant day care center, private day care center, various other sectors’ teachers who have experience ranging from 2 years to 16 years and the collected data were used to verify participants according to the research’s intention, categorization and the total categorization. The results of the in-depth interview are summarized according to research issues as follows.
First, the infant teachers use the child forest experience center because they feel that the infants are in need of the experience. the infant teachers thought that infant forest leader who has the most knowledge about the forest should be selected as an appropriate teacher for the forest center. In terms of satisfaction level on the classes held in the experience center, the results show the most satisfactory score when the class was taught in infants’ level of knowledge. Additionally, the teachers who had positive experience about ‘free-play’ time in the center thought positive about the center.
Second, the infant teachers wanted for the infants to observe various aquatic life and arrange play facilities even though they were less accessible to the improvement plan of the child forest experience center project. Moreover, the teachers insisted to have parents to receive orientation about the center and requested for government weather manuals development. Finally, they hoped that the child forest experiencing activity will happen smoothly with the firm establishment of operation plan from the director for the infant education institution.

This study helped us to understand the perspective of infant teachers on the forest experience and its improvement plan. Through these results, we expect to contribute to the establishment and operation of the new child forest experience center based on what kind of child forest experience centers are perceived by the infant teachers.
