The purpose of this study was to examine head person's Curriculum leadership and teacher's perception of execution of the Curriculum in private kindergartens and then look into the relationship between head person's Curriculum leadership and teacher's perception of the Curriculum. For this, study questions were established as follows:
First, 'What is teacher's perception of head person's Curriculum leadership in private kindergartens and what difference do teacher's background variables (age, undertaking class, career, academic background and class size) make of?'
Second, 'What is teacher's level for the execution of kindergarten Curriculum and what difference do teacher's background variables (age, undertaking class, career, academic background and class size) make of?'
Third, 'What is the relationship between head person's Curriculum leadership and teacher's execution of the Curriculum in private kindergartens?'
In order to get answer to above questions, a questionnaire survey of 281 teachers in kindergartens was carried out and the data of 275 respondents were used in study analysis. In order to examine head person's Curriculum leadership, the author restructured the questionnaire by Choe Yun-jeong (2008). And for the test of the execution of kindergarten Curriculum, this study used the questionnaire of Park Chang-hyeon (2012). Collected data were statistically processed using SPSS 20.0 program, and such analytic techniques as t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe's post hoc test and correlation analysis were carried out. Study findings are as follows:
First, regarding teacher's perception of head person's Curriculum leadership in private kindergartens, the mean of total was 4.15 (SD=.67) and it was high. And such sub-variables as Curriculum responsibility and vision were most high M=4.21, SD=.66). Regarding teacher's background variable-oriented perceptual difference in the total average of head person's Curriculum leadership in private kindergartens, teacher's perception by academic background (M=4.24, SD=.67) and class size (M=4.28, SD=.61) was statistically significant. In other words, teacher's academic background is lower and class size is smaller, teacher's perception of head person's Curriculum leadership is more positive. However, teacher's age, undertaking class and career presented no significant difference.
Second, regarding teacher's level for the execution of Curriculum, the mean of total was 4.14 (SD=.52) and it was high. The level of execution for the sub-variable of the establishment of educational plan (M=4.21, SD=.60) was most high. Regarding the difference by teacher's level of execution of Curriculum and background variables in private kindergartens, the difference by age (M=4.33, SD=.49) was statistically significant. However, the difference by undertaking class, career, academic background and class size was not significant.
Third, regarding the correlation between head person's Curriculum leadership and the sub-variables of teacher's execution of the Curriculum in private kindergartens, the relationship with all the variables was positive (+). Regarding the correlation between the 4 sub-variables of head person's Curriculum leadership and the 5 sub-variables of teacher's execution of the Curriculum in private kindergartens, the relationship between Curriculum expertise and support ability and educational assessment was relatively high (r=.56, p<.001), whereas the relationship between head person's external cooperation and coordination ability and teacher's establishment of educational plan was relatively low (r=.38, p<.001).
In conclusion, study findings present the fact that the correlation between head person's Curriculum leadership and teacher's perception of execution of the Curriculum in private kindergartens is high. In this vein, the exertion of head person's Curriculum leadership not only as an administrator of a kindergarten but also as a leader of it can contribute to the improvement of effectiveness (quality) of the private kindergarten.
