미혼남녀의 내현적 자기애 성향과 데이트 폭력간의 관계에서 자기위로능력의 매개효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 미혼남녀의 내현적 자기애 성향과 데이트 폭력의 관계에서 자기위로능력의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울 및 경기, 대전, 부산, 충청권에 거주하며 만 18세 이상 만 35세까지의 미혼남녀 437명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 통계분석을 하였다. 측정도구는 내현적 자기애 척도(Covert Narcissism Scale: CNS), 갈등책략척도(The Revised Conflict Tactics Scale 2: CTS-2), 자기위로능력척도(Self-Report Measure of Soothing Receptivity)를 사용하였다. 수집한 자료는 SPSS 18.0와 SPSS Process를 사용하여 기술통계, 상관분석, 중다회귀분석을 통해 검증하였다.
연구결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 내현적 자기애와 데이트 폭력, 자기위로능력이 성별에 따라 유의미한 차이가 나타났다.
둘째, 연구변인의 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관분석을 실시한 결과, 내현적 자기애와 데이트 폭력은 유의미한 정적 상관을 보였고, 내현적 자기애와 자기위로능력, 자기위로능력과 데이트 폭력의 관계에서 모두 통계적으로 유의미한 부적 상관을 보였다. 이는 성별에 따라 연구변인들 간의 상관을 분석한 결과에서도 동일한 결과를 보였다.
셋째, 중다회기분석 결과 내현적 자기애와 데이트 폭력의 관계에서 자기위로능력은 부분매개효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다.
넷째, 내현적 자기애와 데이트 폭력의 관계에서 자기위로능력의 매개효과는 성별에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다.
연구결과, 미혼남녀의 내현적 자기애 성향과 데이트 폭력의 관계에서 자기위로능력이 매개변인으로 작용한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이는 내현적 자기애 성향이 높을수록 자기위로능력이 낮아지고, 자기위로능력이 낮을수록 데이트 폭력을 행할 가능성이 높음을 의미한다. 또한 내현적 자기애 성향과 데이트 폭력의 관계에서 자기위로능력의 매개효과는 남성집단에서만 유의미하게 나타났다.
따라서 내현적 자기애 성향자가 타인의 평가로부터 경험하는 다양한 부정적인 감정을 충분히 공감해주고, 자기위로능력에 초점을 맞춘 상담적 개입이 제공된다면 데이트 폭력을 줄이는데 영향을 줄 수 있음을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research intends to discover the mediator effect of soothing ability between covert narcissism and dating violence in single men and women. In order to do this, I did a statistical analysis conducting the survey with 439 single men and women who live in Seoul, Kyungki province, Busan, Daejeon, Chungcheong area and their age group is from 18 to 35 years old.
My measure tools for this research are Covert Narcissism Scale; CNS, The Revised Conflict Tactics Scale2; CTS-2 and Self-Report Measure of Soothing Receptivity. SPSS 18.0 and SPSS Process used collected data and the mediator effect was verified by the statistical technique, a correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis.
The below is what I have discovered in this research. First, there is a meaningful gap among covert narcissism and dating violence, an soothing ability. In covert narcissism, women are a lot higher than men statically. In the soothing ability part, men are higher than women statically. Last, in dating violence, women are meaningfully higher than men statically.
Second, after a correlation analysis so as to figure out any relationship with various facts of research, both covert narcissism and dating violence have a meaningful static correlation but all of covert narcissism, dating violence and soothing ability show negative correlation statically. It was the same with a correlation analysis divided by sex; male and female.
Third, multiple regression analysis has a part-mediator effect between covert narcissism and dating violence.
Fourth, depending on gender differences, there is a significant difference in the mediator effect of soothing ability concerning relationship between covert narcissism and dating violence.
In conclusion, soothing ability works as a mediation factor between narcissism and dating violence in single men and women. Also, it has a different result by gender. The higher level of preference to covert narcissism is, the lower levels of soothing ability is. The lower level of soothing ability is, the higher level of possibility to commit dating violence is. In particular, the mediator effect of soothing ability is more likely to show meaningful significance in male individuals regarding with covert narcissism and dating violence.
These results suggest that future counseling with those who tend to have the covert narcissism tendency may contribute to reduce dating violence by following ways: by showing empathy with negative emotions attributed to evaluation or judgement from others and by involving in counseling focused on soothing ability.
