대학생이 지각한 데이트폭력 가해동기와 데이트폭력의 관계 : 남녀 차이를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 데이트폭력 가해동기와 데이트폭력의 관계를 탐색하였다. 이때 데이트폭력 및 가해동기에 대한 성차 논쟁에 주목하여 두 변인과 그 관계에서 나타나는 성차를 조사하였다. 연구 1에서는 총 4가지 유형의 데이트폭력(약한 심리적 폭력, 강한 심리적 폭력, 약한 신체적 폭력, 강한 신체적 폭력)에서 나타나는 가해 및 피해 실태의 성차와 가해동기의 성차를 확인하였다. 데이트폭력 경험이 있는 남녀 대학생 317명의 자료를 분석한 결과, 심리적 데이트폭력의 가해에서만 성차가 나타났고, 여성이 남성보다 더 많은 심리적 공격을 하는 것이 확인되었다. 또한 심리적 데이트폭력의 가해를 공격수준에 따라 구분한 결과에서도 여성은 약한 수준과 강한 수준 모두에서 남성보다 심리적 공격을 더 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 데이트폭력 가해동기에서도 성차가 확인되었는데, 4가지 유형의 데이트폭력 모두에서 가해동기의 성차가 나타났다. 특히 자기방어는 4가지 유형의 데이트폭력 모두에서 여성이 남성보다 더 많이 가해동기로 지각하고 있어, 여성의 가해행동과 밀접하게 관련되어 있음을 시사했다. 다음으로 데이트폭력 가해동기와 데이트폭력의 관계에서 남성과 여성은 상이한 관계 양상을 나타내었다. 즉 남성의 데이트폭력은 정서/정신/신체상태 가해동기가 유의미한 영향을 미친 반면, 여성의 데이트폭력은 힘/권위를 행사하고자 하는 가해동기에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 연구 2는 연구 1의 결과에 기초하여, 심리적 데이트폭력 가해 경험이 있는 여자 대학생 107명의 자료로 아동학대 경험과 심리적 데이트폭력의 관계에서 힘/권위 행사 동기가 매개하는지 알아보았다. 그 결과 두 변인의 관계에서 힘/권위 행사 동기가 완전매개하고 있음을 확인하였다. 논의에서는 데이트폭력 실태 및 데이트폭력 가해동기에서의 성차, 데이트폭력 가해동기와 데이트폭력의 관계, 그리고 여성의 아동학대 경험과 심리적 데이트폭력의 관계에서 힘/권위 행사 동기의 완전매개효과에 대하여 논의하고, 연구의 시사점과 제한점 및 제언을 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The present study explored the relationship between motives for dating violence perpetration and dating violence. And this study focused on controversies of gender differences in dating violence and motives for dating violence perpetration, and therefore investigated the gender differences in the two variables. To investigate the gender differences in dating violence and motives for dating violence perpetration, study 1 identified gender differences within perpetration, victimization and motives of total 4 types of dating violence(mild psychological dating violence, severe psychological dating violence, severe physical dating violence, severe physical dating violence).
In result of study 1 that analyzed data of male and female college students(n=317) who had experienced dating violence and were more than 18 years, gender differences appeared in only psychological dating violence and females indicated that more women than men had perpetrated psychological dating violence. In the investigation severity of aggression of psychological dating violence, also females indicated that more women than men had perpetrated psychological dating violence. Furthermore, motives for dating violence perpetration revealed gender difference in total 4 types of dating violence too. Especially, only self-defense of motives appeared gender difference in total 4 types of dating violence. Therefore these results have suggested that self- defense is closely related to women's perpetration. Next, males and females appeared different relationship in the exploration of the relationship between motives for dating violence perpetration and dating violence. Men's dating violence perpetration was significant associated with emotional/mental./physical state, on the other hand, women's dating violence perpetration was significant associated with asserting power/authority motive. Based on significant the findings of study 1, study 2 examined that the relationship between experience of child abuse and psychological dating violence mediated through asserting power/authority motive. For this, study 2 analyzed data of female college students(n=107) who had experienced psychological dating violence. In result of study 2, females indicated that the relationship between the two variables fully mediated through asserting power/authority motive. In discussion, the gender differences appeared in the actual state of dating violence and motives for dating violence perpetration, the relationship between dating violence and motives for dating violence perpetration, and the relationship between women's experience of child abuse and psychological dating violence mediated through asserting power/authority motive were discussed and the limitations of this study and suggestions for future studies were showed.
