Abstract

This research studied the So-ri dance in Po-hang named “wol- wol- e- chung –chung” which is one of the many traditional folk songs from the east coast.
The regional characteristics of So-ri dancing spread throughout Korea’s exterior as well as it’s interior.
The dance’s method varied depending on the lifestyle of the region, such as the Gang-gang soolrae in Honam province and the Notdaribabgi in the Andong area. Generally these represent group dancing, wishing for a good harvest, and expressing their life through songs.
Po-hang wol- wol- e- chung -chung requires that girls from 15 year old to young ladies perform songs and dance together under the moonlight on first full moon as well as Chuseok. From a local folk song to group dancing, So-ri dance has been passed away to where it is today to fixed rule. It is popular in the coastal areas like Yakgeon lee, Balsan lee of the east areas, Jangsung dong, Yangduk dong, Hwanhee dong, Yeonam dong of the north areas in Po-hang and Jookchun, Woomok, Chilpo, Odori in Heonghae town, Wolpo in Chungha town, Hwoasan lee in Songra town. The rhythms are called Goodgeori and Jajinmori which are composed simply, but the simplicity changed the rhythms’ mood with tempo such as fast and cheerful or slow and somber.
The lyrics of Po-hang wol- wol- e- chung -chung are composed of apmadang (entrance), dalneomgi, ouiddagi, jaebalgi, damoonyeolgi, silgguligamgi, silggulipulgi, etc. And there is a yutpanjae , the name of Pohang area in the song. Po-hang wol- wol- e- chung -chung sings also of the life style of the locals like a song about agriculture.
The Sori dance of Po-hang wol- wol- e- chung -chung is a part of our precious heritage and traditional culture as one of the many group dancing styles. Through this research I expect the Sori dance of Po-hang wol- wol- e- chung -chung will be creatively expanded upon as well as contribute to development of each area’s culture. And if the production of documentary records and materials is concentrated. for the systematic provide, we project that we can halt it’s extinction and go beyond simple words of mouth transmission of Po-hang wol- wol- e- chung -chung.
Therefore this research focused on recording music, movement of the dance, the scale, and abdominal breathing of Po-hang wol- wol- e- chung -chung. I expect younger students to have a greater interest through this research.

포항 월월이청청 소리춤 연구

본 연구는 동해안 지방을 중심으로 연희되어지던 구전 토속민요의 하나인 포항 월월이청청의 소리춤을 고찰한 것이다. 소리춤은 내륙지방뿐 아니라 우리나라 전역에 분포되어 지역의 특성에 맞게 전승되어 내려오고 있다. 호남지방의 강강술래, 안동의 놋다리밟기 등 삶의 모습에 따라 연희되는 형태 또한 다르게 나타나며 공통적인 것은 집단형태의 군무형식을 띠고 있고 풍농을 기원하며 노랫말 속에 삶의 모습들이 그대로 표현되고 있다.
포항 월월이청청은 정월대보름과 추석보름에 마을의 15세 정도의 소녀로부터 새댁인 젊은 아낙네들이 모여 달빛아래 노래와 춤을 함께 연행한다. 일정한 규칙에 맞추어 소리춤으로 연희되어오던 지역의 토속민요이면서 군무의 형태를 띠고 있다. 포항지역 동해면 약전리, 발산리, 포항 북구의 장성동, 양덕동, 환호동, 여남동과 흥해읍의 죽천, 우목, 칠포, 오도리, 청하면 월포, 송라면 화산리까지의 해안촌에서 성행되었으며, 장단은 굿거리장단과 자진모리장단으로 단순하게 구성되어 있으나 그 단순함을 빠르기와 느리기로 경쾌하게 변화시켜 연희하고 있다.
포항 월월이청청의 소릿말은 앞마당(입장), 달넘기, 외따기, 재밟기, 대문열기, 실꾸리감기, 실꾸리풀기 등으로 되어있다. 월월이청청 노랫말에는 포항 지역명칭인 윷판재가 등장한다. 또 농사의 형태 등 생활의 모습을 노래하고 있다
월월이청청 소리춤은 공동체적인 집단무의 하나로 소중한 지역의 문화유산이자, 전통문화로서의 가치를 갖는다. 본 연구를 기반으로 월월이청청 소리춤을 창조적으로 계승하여 건강한 지역의 집단놀이 문화의 전승과 발전에 기여할 것을 기대한다. 또한 체계적 보급을 위하여 문헌과 자료의 제작이 구체화하는데 일조하고자 한다. 포항 월월이청청의 구전적 한계를 넘어, 소멸의 위기를 극복하고, 다중적 교육에 활용될 수 있기를 희망한다.
따라서 본 연구는 포항 월월이청청의 음악과 춤동작, 대형 구성, 복식 등을 기록으로 남기는데 역점을 두었다. 이를 기초로 후학의 보다 체계적인 연구와 관심이 함께하기를 기대해 본다.
