This study aims to examine the relations among Interpersonal Problems, Trait Anger, and Emotional Dysregulation of College students. In addition, the study intends to find out the mediating Effects of Emotional Dysregulation on the basis of relations between Interpersonal Problems and Trait Anger. This study surveyed college students who are studying at four-year colleges in Chungcheong-do(regardless of men and women) from September to November in 2014, and 385 questionnaires were used for the study among the 433 questionnaires. The measurement tools used in this study are the scale of the State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory (STAXI-K) that was manufactured by Spielberger, Krasner, and Solomon(1998) and revised as the Korean adaptation by Gyeom-gu Jeon, Dong-yeon Kim, and Jun-seok, Lee. Additionally, Short Form of the Korean Inventory of Interpersonal Problems Circumplex(KIIP-SC) which was manufactured by SangHwang Hong, EunYoung Park, YoungHwan Kim, JungHye Kwon, YongRae Cho, YooKyung Kim and Difficulties of Emotional Regulation Scale(DERS) which was produced by Gratz &Roemer(2004) and revised by YongRae Cho were used. The collected data was analyzed by using the Statistical analysis program(SPSS) 22.0. To examine the correlation among Trait Anger, Interpersonal Problems, and Emotional Dysregulation, Pearson correlation analysis and three-steps of regression analysis which was manufactured by Baron and Kenny(1986) were used. In addition, Sobel’s test and Bootstrapping were used to verify the mediating effects. The results showed the following: First, as a result of correlation among the variables, the study showed a significant positive correlation among Trait Anger, Interpersonal Problems, and Emotional Dysregulation. Among the subordinates of Emotional Dysregulation, difficulties of impulse control, non-acceptance of emotions, lack of emotional clarity, limited access to emotion regulation strategies, and difficulties of engaging in goal-directed behavior presented a significant positive correlation on Trait Anger and Interpersonal Problems. Second, as the result of mediating effects on Emotional Dysregulation between Trait Anger and Interpersonal Problems, Emotional Dysregulation partly mediated between Trait Anger and Interpersonal Problems. In addition, Impulse control difficulties, Non-acceptance of emotions, lack of emotional clarity, limited access to emotion regulation strategies, and difficulties of engaging in goal-directed behavior partly mediated between Trait Anger and Interpersonal problems as the result of mediating effects on Emotional Dysregulation. Based on these results, this study has verified the mediating effects of Emotional Dysregulation that how Trait Anger has the effect on Interpersonal Problems and suggested the importance of Emotional Dysregulation for college students’ Interpersonal Problems. Lastly, this study discussed constraints as well as a future direction of research.
