The purpose of this study is to investigate the protective factors influencing resilience of adolescent girls with prostitution experiences. The survey was conducted targeting 80 adolescent girls with prostitution experiences under the age of 24 among the girls who have participated in the education operated by nine Supporting Facility for Victims Forced Prostitution and the Crisis Training Center located in Seoul, and consequently, the data was collected.
The data were analyzed by using the correlation analysis, the multiple regression analysis and the hierarchical regression analysis methods.
The following is a summary of the result found in this study.
Firstly, as a result investigating the relationship between the personal inner protective factors and the resilience of adolescent girls with prostitution experiences, it was shown that the social competence, self-esteem, and self-control among the personal inner protective factors have an effect of significant level on the resilience.
For the second, as a result examining the relationship between the family inner protective factors and the resilience of adolescent girls with prostitution experiences, it was confirmed that the parental attachment which is the family internal factors has an influence of significance level on the resilience.
Thirdly, as a result investigating the relationship between the social protective factors and the resilience of adolescent girls with prostitution experiences, it was shown that the peer attachment and the social support among the social protective factors have an effect of significant level on the resilience.
Finally, as a result measuring the relative influence on the individual inner, family inner, social protective factors and the resilience, the significant influence on the self-esteem among individual internal protective factors was confirmed. but, it was confirmed that the family inner protective factors and social protective factors have no effect of significant level affect.
In this study, the author have confirmed that the protective factors influencing on the adaptive resilience of adolescent girls with prostitution experiences are classified into the personal inner factors, such as the social competence, self-esteem, self-control, the family inner factors, such as the parental attachment, and the social factors, such as the peer attachment and the social support, and also she has identified that the most strongest relative protective factor is the self-esteem among the individual protective factors.
These results suggests that the counseling intervention helps that put the emphasis to restore self-esteem in order to enhance the personal inner strength of the adolescent girls with prostitution experience along with the external support, such as the family and the social support system needed to the support and counseling interventions for the young girls with prostitution experiences, are required.
