It is reality that the competitive edge of being possessed by small-and
medium-sized institute is poorer compared to large institute or famous
franchise institute in the middle of private education market, which is placed
today in the extremely supply saturation. Accordingly, the excellence in the
differentiated educational service quality needs to be recognized by
customers given being selected by customers amid the fierce competition.
Examining prior research in this aspect, the conclusion was ever elicited as
saying that a tailored educational strategy is evaluated as strong alternative
of strengthening competitiveness of local small-and medium-sized institutes
and can be positioned as the differentiated and specialized private education
field from public education. Of course, the conclusion of a prior research
agrees to a point that institutes of having competitiveness are growing
every district by reflecting the tailored educational service of recently reflecting educational consumers' needs in the small-and medium-sized
institutes. However, the prior research is recognized the limitation in the
aspect of having reflected the individualized-tailored educational service field
just partially and in a sense of having performed research targeting one
institute in Yeongtong district. Accordingly, as a result of SWOT analysis
based on prior thesis, this study aims to suggest the developmental model
with one step further from eliciting implication as saying of being the
tailored specialized educational system as the positioning space for survival
and development in local brand institute.
Hence, it elicited it into 5 kinds such as individual-difference educational
system, individualized-tailored support system, individualized-tailored career
consulting program, individualized-tailored entrance consulting program, and
individualized-tailored learning consulting program by modifying and
supplementing a tactical ring for implementing a concept dubbed the tailored
specialized educational system of applying Porter's strategic architecture
implementation method for realizing a positioning concept that was
suggested in the prior thesis. An item of implementing each of the tactical
ring was extracted by about 2-6 pieces.
This is what added a few items to the matters of being carried out now at
3-district institutes such as one institute in Hwaseong-si, one institute in
Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, and one institute in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si. To
confirm whether this strategic architecture can meet actual consumers'
needs for education, it carried out a questionnaire survey on satisfaction
targeting parents of attendees at this institute, and simultaneously conducted
questionnaire survey of asking about importance of the same questionnaire
item targeting education managers of 110 institutes in each place
nationwide. Thus, the aim was to examine validity on whether the offer of the individualized-tailored educational service can be positioned as the
differentiated and characterized private-education field of having competitive
edge in private education market henceforth.
As a result of questionnaire response targeting about totally 104
education managers, the recognition of importance on each of the
components in strategic architecture was indicated to be from 6.68 to 5.08
based on 7-point Likert-type scale, thereby having shown to be very high
outcome. Even the satisfaction targeting 104 parents was indicated to be
very high outcome with distribution from 6.53 to 6.08.
It was small-scale questionnaire survey, but appeared to be high in both
the importance of having been responded by education managers and the
satisfaction of having been responded by parents as for the components of
strategic architecture in the corresponding institutes. Thus, the tailored
educational service is evaluated to be suitable for new strategy of survival
and development in small-and medium-sized institutes in the future
educational market.
In addition, the offer of flexible learning service of focusing on an
individual's level-based difference as a role sharing plan with public
education is evaluated as one appropriate alternative plan.
In conclusion, the tailored educational strategy is evaluated as strong
alternative plan for intensifying competitiveness of regionally small-and
medium-sized institutes, is thought to be likely able to be positioned as the
differentiated and characterized private education field from public education
hereafter, and is expected to be likely a program of training global leaders
with competitiveness in the future.
What feels something lacking in this study despite of establishing a
management strategy is admitted to have limitation in eliciting more accurate outcome because of having targeted institutes in the restricted
districts. More diverse researches are expected to be progressed down the
road. It is desired to be conducive to a strategy that an institute grows
continuously beyond survival in the new private education market even if
being poor ability. It is desired simultaneously to play a part in making
environment available for educational consumers to receive a little higher
quality educational service.
