In this study, Ego State of Egogram, TA personality theory taking a variable position of personality, was used as an independent variable, and a career decision making pattern was as a parameter, and job seeking stress was as a dependent variable. Then, the relation between these variables was analyzed in depth. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate rational career decision making and a practical methods to reduce job seeking stress in university students. The target of this study was students in seven universities in Daegu·Gyeongbuk and a questionnaire survey was used as a survey method. Total 500 questionnaires were distributed and questionnaires with insincere answers or omissions were excluded. Total 384 questionnaires (76.8%) were used for analysis. The major result of this study is as follows. First, Functional egostate A was analyzed as a core variable to have a positive effect on the rational career decision making pattern, and Functional egostate FC was analyzed as a core variable to have a positive effect on the eidetic career decision making pattern, and Functional egostate AC was analyzed as a core variable to have a positive effect on the dependent career decision making pattern. Second, a dependent career decision making pattern was analyzed as a core variable to have a negative effect on cognitive·emotional·physical job seeking stress, and a rational career decision making pattern was analyzed to have a positive effect on behavioral job seeking stress. Third, Functional egostate NP, A, FC were analyzed as a variable to reduce job seeking stress by the medium of a career decision making pattern and Functional egostate AC was analyzed as a variable to induce job seeking stress by the medium of a career decision making pattern. The significance of this study is as follows. First, we verified the opinion of Harren that says an issue of self-conception should be preceded for ideal career decision making, by using Ego State as a precedent variable. Second, we verified that Ego State, a personal intrinsic personality variable, is an important predictor variable to explain a career decision making pattern and job seeking stress in university students. In a follow-up study, we expect that various education and counseling programs are developed to neutralize CP and AC, which have a negative effect on a career decision making pattern and job seeking stress, and to activate NP, A, FC, which have a positive effect on a rational career decision making pattern and job seeking stress, and the effectiveness is verified because Ego State of a TA personality theory is a variable personality theory.
