초등학생의 스마트폰 중독과 관련된 변인 : 부모양육태도, 자존감, 사회성 = The variables associated with the addiction of the Smart-phone for elementary school students : Parental rearing attitudes and Self-Esteem, Sociality

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 초등학생의 스마트폰 사용과 관련하여 초등학생이 지각한 부모양육태도와 자존감, 사회성이 초등학생들의 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 실시되었다. 이를 위해 창원 소재 초등학교 2개교의 5∼6학년 남녀 학생 309(남 156명, 여 153명)명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 조사대상자들 중 93.6%가 스마트폰을 사용하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 스마트폰 사용에 있어서 남녀 차이는 유의하지 않았다.
둘째, 부모양육태도 및 자존감, 사회성이 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향력을 분석한 결과, 부모양육태도와 자존감은 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향이 부적인 것으로 나타났으며, 사회성의 영향은 정적인 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 초등학생이 부모양육태도를 부적으로 지각할수록, 자존감이 낮을수록 스마트폰을 더 많이 사용하였다. 놀랍게도, 사회성이 좋은 학생이 스마트폰을 더 많이 사용하는 것으로 나타났다.
결론적으로 본 연구에서 지각된 부모양육태도와 자존감, 사회성이 스마트폰 중독에 영향을 미치는 변인임을 확인하였다. 특히, 사회성이 좋은 학생이 스마트폰을 더 많이 사용하는 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과를 통해 초등학생들의 스마트폰은 또래관계의 핵심적인 의사소통의 수단임을 확인하였다. 따라서 부모와 교사들은 초등학생들에게 또래관계에 대한 이해와 이에 따른 스마트폰 사용에 대해 올바른 지도와 정보를 제공해 주어야 하며, 가정과 학교에서도 스마트폰 중독을 예방하기 위해 체계적이고 지속적인 관심이 필요함을 시사하고 있다.
