The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of mother's overprotection on children's self-control, impulsiveness, and school adjustment. Subjects of this study consisted of 912 children who have been living in Cheong ju city and who are grades of fifth and sixth. Date were collected from survey and analyzed by frequency, percentage, Cronbach's α, t-test, F-test, Tukey post-hoc test, and correlation using SPSS 12.0 program. The test of model was done with analysis of correlation matrix in AMOS 7.0 program for path analysis.

The results of this study were as follows:
First, there were differences in mother's over expectation, interference, and projective protect according to children' sex, grade, and school recode.
Second, there were differences in children' self-control and impulsiveness according to their sex, grade, family income, and school recode.
Third, there were differences in school adjustment according to their sex, school recode, family income, and parents' education level. Forth, mother's projective caring had a direct effect on both boys and girls' self-control whereas mother's over expectation and intrusiveness did not.
Fifth, mother's intrusiveness and projective caring had a direct effect on both boys and girls's impulsiveness. Mother's over expectation had a direct effect on girls' impulsivenee while it did not on boys.
Sixth, children' self-control and impulsiveness had direct effects on school adjustment of learning activity and rules for school. However, adjustment of school friends and teachers were affected by children's self-control. Whereas boys' impulsiveness did not have a direct effect on school adjustment, girls' adjustment of school friends and teachers were affected by impulsiveness.
Seventh, mother's projective caring had a direct effect on girls' school adjustment of learning activity, however mother's over expectation and intrusiveness did not have a direct effect on children's school adjustment. Mother's intrusiveness had an indirect effect on adjustment of rules for school mediated by boys' impulsiveness. Mother's projective caring had an indirect effect on all areas of school adjustment mediated by children's self-control and impulsiveness.
In conclusion, this study is meaningful to reveal maternal overprotection in a multidimensional model in that children' self-control and impulsiveness works as mediators between maternal overprotection and children's school adjustment. Also it suggests that to improve children's school adjustment needed to enhance children' self-control and to reduce children's impulsiveness and maternal overprotection and projective overprotective. In addition, the most important implication of this study was to suggests empirical data in education and counselling spot.
