The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of happiness enhancement group counseling on the happiness, psychological well-being and meanig in life of Tenrikyo believers.
Participants were 20 Tenrikyo believers in Busan and divided into two groups; 10 in the experimental group and 10 in the controlled group. The program has been conducted to the experimental group for 60 minutes (total 10 sessions). Participants were given scales assessing happiness, psychological well-being and meanig in life before and after the program.
The process of the data was estimated by MANCOVA through SPSS/WIN 18.0. The results indicated that Tenrikyo believers's happiness in the experimental group increased significantly and psychological well-being and meanig in life enhanced partially. Therefore, this program was effective in boosting the level of happiness and improving psychological well-being and meanig in life. Consequently, this study shows that the program can be used to help Tenrikyo believers by improving their happiness, psychological well-being and meanig in life.
Finally, the limitations and implication of this study was discussed.
