    (Abstract)
    The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the peer counseling training program on communication and peer relations of the peer counselors at middle school students.
    The hypotheses for the study were made as follows:
    First, the Peer Counseling Training Program will improve communication of the peer counselors of middle school students.
    Second, the Peer Counseling Training Program will improve peer relations of the peer counselors of middle school students.
    The research designed to verify the hypothesis of this study follows pre-test, post-test and further-test experiment design.
    The subjects of this study consisted of 16 members who were from D middle school in p-gu, D Metropolitan City(Both the control group and experimental group each had 8 members). This program was performed once a week for 8 weeks, 8 sessions and each session lasted for 60 minutes. The scale of Communication used in this study was the Test for Communication which was produced again by Han Jong-hye(1996) and based on Barnes and Olson's instrument of Parent-Adolescent Communication measurement(1982). The scale of Peer Relations used in this study was the Test for Peer relations modified the word for middle school students by Jeon Mi-ra(2006) and based on Korea Youth Counseling Institute's instrument of Peer relations measurement(2000).
    The data was collected from the experimental group and the control group according to the results of pre-test, post-test and follow up-test. The SPSS for window 18.0 was used for the statistical analysis and the statistical significance level for the hypothetical verification was set at .05.
    The results of this study were follows:
    First, the Peer Counseling Training Program improved communication of the peer counselors of middle school students.
    Second, the Peer Counseling Training Program improved peer relations of the peer counselors of middle school students.
    Considering these results, it can be said that the Peer Counseling Training Program has an effect on improving communication and peer Counseling of the peer counselors of middle school students.
