농촌 중학생의 외모만족도가 학교적응에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 대인관계와 자아존중감의 매개효과를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 농촌 중학생의 외모만족도가 학교적응에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구를 대인관계와 자아존중감의 매개로 하여 외모만족도가 학교적응에 미치는 영향과 대인관계와 자아존중감이 외모만족도와 학교적응과의 관계를 매개하는지 알아보았다.
분석 결과 주요한 내용을 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 농촌 중학생의 사회 인구학적 특성을 통해서 주목할 것은 외모만족도가 성별이나 학년별, 동거 가족, 학교성적에 따라 모두 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 농촌 중학생의 외모만족도가 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 대부분의 선행연구들은 도시지역 초, 중, 고등학생들 대상으로 연구되었지만, 농촌지역 중학생을 대상으로 알아보았다는 연구 결과가 농촌, 도시 지역 중학생들에게 전반적으로 외모만족이 학교적응에 영향을 미친 것으로 확인하게 되었다.
셋째, 농촌 중학생의 대인관계가 학교적응에 직접적인 영향을 미치나 외모만족과 학교적응을 매개하지 않는 것으로 나타났다.
넷째, 농촌 중학생의 자아존중감은 외모만족과 학교적응에 매개하는 것으로 나타났다.
본 연구의 후속 연구를 위하여 몇 가지 제언을 다시 하고자 한다.
첫째, 외모와 정서적으로 민감한 농촌 중학생들에게 학교적응을 높이기 위해서 청소년기의 외모에 대한 올바른 사고와 자기 내면의 아름다움과 자신감을 가질 수 있도록 전인적 관심과 전인적 상담교육이 필요하다.
둘째, 농촌 중학생들에게 자신의 소중함과 긍정적인 가치관을 심어주어 자아존중감을 높이도록 도와주어야 한다.
셋째, 농촌 중학생의 외모만족도와 관련된 프로그램은 외모만족도가 남학생보다 상대적으로 낮은 여학생에게 초점을 맞추어 시행함으로 학교적응을 더 높일 수 있도록 권장해야겠다고 생각한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research examines the mediacy effect of personal relations and self-worth of rural students in junior high school on satisfaction level of their appearances, while also studying intermediating effects of such a level of satisfaction have on school adaptability.
Followings are main contents included in the results of the analysis.
First, through characteristics of social-demographics, it was proved that the level of satisfaction on their appearances affects depending on gender, which school year they are in, family members living together, and grades in school.
Secondly, it was concluded that the level of satisfaction rural students have about their appearances has an effect on school adaptability. Most of the prior researches focused on elementary, junior high, and high school students in city area, however, by this research which examined students in rural area, it was proved that in most cases, the level of satisfaction affects school adaptability in both city and rural areas.
Third, it was found that personal relations of junior high students in rural area neither directly affected nor intermediated the school adaptability.
Forth, the self-worth of rural junior high students was proved to mediate between the level of satisfaction on their appearances and their school adaptabilities.
For further research on this subject, I would like to suggest some comments.
First, in order to increase the school adaptability of rural junior high students, and to help them to have sound judgements about their appearances with confidence in their inner beauty, holistic attention and holistic consulting education are required.
Secondly, there should be positive values and recognition of self-worthiness for rural junior students in order for them to increase their self-esteem.
Third, the programs related to the level of satisfaction that rural junior high students have should be recommended and focused more on female students than on male students with a low level of appearance satisfaction.
