Today, modern society has rapidly changed by science and information technologies and also human life gone through this pace of change. The mobile devices smart phone, tablet PC et al. are leading new smart revolution of today making incredible present ubiquitous surrounding realities true that we've just imagined just only ten years ago. In this era of smart revolution, our education system and method are to be face a totally different context so then we should find adaptable solutions for the present.
The former education paradigm cannot help transforming against globalization, information-oriented society. To reflect this new paradigm, the National Council for Information and communications technology strategies set the goal as 'smart education' to raise globally competent leader of global society with creativity and personality. And to pursue these objectives, Korean government and the council specifies their effort as developing digital textbook, vitalizing online lecture, and building online assessment system and other solutions.
This study takes the object of research as high school students whose daily routine life is filled with full internet and smart phone use in more and more extended sphere. To them, the vivid and active images and intuitive and simple search engine's results are very attractive. For the result of this external environment, high school students needs new, active and adaptable class methods rather than traditional textbook and lecture centered class. Thus, this study set a purpose to find how to apply smart learning methods and technologies into art education for interactive class with students and teacher.
To purpose this goal, this study takes the methods of art education applied online communication and smart devices were taken and researches usability and effects of these hard and software contents for art education. Through this, this study tries to find new and alternative art education methods and ways to find educational value. Followings are the results or this study on how to apply smart learning methods on art education.
First, in case of a class applied Springnote (http://www.springnote. com), the interactive class environment enables students and teacher to communicate each other online.
Second, in case of a class applied Prezi (http://www.prezi.-com), the process-oriented class curriculum enables students to bulid their own portfolio and share their own works with other classmates for feedbacks.
Third, in case of a class applied QR code, the on-off line interactive, hybrid class environment enables students to archive the works from former two classes, to hold students' own exhibition by students and to exhibit the collections via QR code design access.
On this research process, it has shown that online class is another reality beyond physical class and the subjects on this online class are students then they could be more active and self-oriented learners. Also, these ubiquitous reality makes students recognizes the physical school environment and the smart learning environment as one integrated sphere so then students can be more active and flexible in school just like their own routine life.
The new emerging generation so called net generation needs something more than traditional paper copy textbook or methods for developing their personality and creativity. For this, this study explores multilateral methods of smart learning and applications of those on real class circumstances, and ultimately, suggests the resolutions for new paradigm of ar education as the conclusion.
