The purpose of this study was to examine the integrated musical activities based on the musical concepts about the musicality of infants and investigate the effects on the musical aptitude and musicality of infants. The subjects of this study were infants aged 2 attending in day care center in Daegu City.
The experimental group were treated 3 times a week for 16 weeks, 48 times overall by the program, the comparative group infants were treated at the same period for same time by the existing usual daily their program in day care center.
Both groups were given a pretest, mid-test, and post-test to figure out the effects of the musicality. Data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics for Windows 20. The MANOVA, Repeated Measures ANOVA were used as analysis methods.
The results of this study are established as follows;
First, the infants in experimental group had significant differences in improving musical aptitude, comparing to the infants of comparative group. In addition, there were effects about the development of pitches and rhythms.
Second, the infants in experimental group had significant differences in development of musical disposition. If amplifying, there were some effects which improved the musical interests, competences and volitions through the integrated
musical activities based on the musical concepts concerning the musicality of infants.
This findings indicate that the integrated musical activities based on the musical concepts can supplement the teaching-learning in fragmentary and passive musical education in the past. Also it can be adapted to improve the musicality of the aged 2 who are very young learners.
At last, we can mention that the program has educational value enough.
