Modern society has become multifarious and diverse due to the richness of life owing to the development of technology. With such richness, The advancement of modern technology has contributed to the richness of life, yet has brought on inhumane materialization, which has a significant impact on human nature.
And, television and Internet media are mimics of reality in virtual space. As a result violent and sexually explicit, and non-social phenomenon increased on the premise that anonymity. In addition, due to the globalization that influx of disparate foreign and diverse culture lead to confusion of identity. And, multicultural era became an issue for foreign workers and migrant women became a social emphasis.
Missionary Dance can solve the aforementioned problems and offer psychological bliss and stability to our society. Furthermore, it must provide a new direction for modern culture, as well as cure the agony of mankind.
The words on mission of the Bible can be reinterpreted to spread the Christian gospel through dance. today, dance which needs physical action fits for service and a tool to widen the Christian gospel.
This research based on the choreography feature of missionary dance and does there is a goal which discovers it educational possibility. For an authentic research are as follows:
In chapter Ⅱ, I study the definition and the theoretical background of missionary dance. I research the 'Missio Dei' and history of christian dance in western culture and flow of korean missionary dance.
In chapter Ⅲ, I study the features of missionary Dance choreography. Firstly, I research the christian view of the world and its creative principles. Here is the creative principle of significant symbol about Bible, and the body by th holy space, and the Community by group dancing.
In chapter Ⅳ, I study the educational possibilities of missionary dance. Its possibilities are personality education, arts education, the social integration possibilities of multicultural era, psychological healing, and faith education.
Chapter Ⅴ is a conclusive part of this paper. I summarize the contents given in chapter Ⅱ, Ⅲ, and Ⅳ. Many researches about missionary dance are still in the concept of evangelical perspectives. So, in this chapter, I point out some problems about it. As an alternative to it, there are two types of the ecumenical perspective and the holistic mission perspective. Through this process, I explores the possibility of Social integration missionary dance and then can take place through this indigenous culture.
As a result, this research the educational possibility of missionary dance, and discuss about the direction in the future.
First of all, the main purpose of this thesis was to provide a basic principle of missionary dance, and to investigate the educational possibility of dance in cultural missionary work.
