This study has grasped the effect of stress, parental attachment, parental monitoring and self-control on adolescent's depression aimed at juveniles and aggression and examined controlling effect of parental attachment, parental monitoring and self-control regarding the relation among stress, depression and aggression. For the analysis of this study, 2,844 data have been used aimed at elementary 4th-grade panel of Korea youth panel survey of 5th year(2008) in Korea Youth Panel Survey Policy Institute. The data have been analyzed through SPSS 12.0 Program and frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, T-test, One way Analysis of Variance(ANOVA), Scheffe-test and hierarchial regression analysis have been done.
The study results have been summarized as follows.
First, regarding the analyzed results according to the adolescent' general characteristics, female adolescents more experience appearance stress and depression and the higher grades adolescents have, the more self-control they have.
Second, adolescent's stress has a positive effect on the adolescent repression and aggression. All parental attachment, parental monitoring and self-control have a negative effect on depression. Only self-control has a negative effect on aggression.
Third, when it comes to the relation among adolescent's stress, depression and aggression, parental attachment have a controlling influence on the effect of parental stress on depression and aggression. Parental monitoring has controlling impact on the effect of study stress on depression. In addition, self-control has controlling influence on the effect of parental stress on aggression.
As a result of the study, it turns out that parental attachment is important to decrease and prevent the adolescent's depression and self-control is momentous to prevent adolescent's aggression. Based on the study results, programs for improving self-control and the relation with parents should be developed and provided to prevent the problematic behaviors such as depression and aggression under circumstances of stress adolescents experience.
