The purpose of this study was to check the effect of neuromuscular activation using Sling on the hemiplegia patient. The objects of study are 20 patients who were diagnosed as stroke. The common things they share with is that 24 months have passed since they had diagnosed and their average age is 63. And the objects is made up of 12 men and 8 women. A control group of 10 was treated with general exercise therapy appling the idea of open kinetic chain exercises, and an experimental group was treated with closed kinetic chain exercises using sling. The closed kinetic chain exercises using sling was executed 30 miutes a time, 3 times a week for 4 weeks under the direction of a therapist.
In the study of the effect of neuromuscular activation exercises using sling for 20 hemiplegia patient, I have got the results as follows;
First, after the neuromuscular activation exercises using sling, in the muscular activation index, the experimental and control group showed significant difference in the rectus abdominis, external oblique, and erector spine. but there are no significant differences between the two groups.
Second, after the neuromuscular activation exercises using sling, the experimental and control group showed significant difference in BBS, FICSIT-4, TUG, and in the balance abilities using Bisrescure, showed a remarkable difference in length, speed, footprint. But there are no significant differences between the two groups.
On the foregoing results, Group I have found that both neuromuscular activation exercises using sling and the general exercise therapy help the hemiplegia patient to improve muscular activation and balance activities. There are no significant difference between the two groups, but neuromuscular activation exercises using sling is a little more helpful than the general exercise therapy. Therefore, the fact that neuromuscular activation exercises using sling is helpful to the hemiplegia patient has been verified through this study.
