부와 모의 심리적 통제와 청소년의 우울 및 불안과의 관계 : 비합리적 신념의 매개효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 부모의 심리적 통제의 두 가지 유형을 제시한 DAPCS(The Dependency-oriented and Achievement-oriented Psychological Control Scale)를 번안하여 타당성을 검증해 보고, 이를 이용하여 부모의 심리적 통제의 두 가지 유형이 청소년의 비합리적 신념과 우울 및 불안에 어떠한 영향을 미치며, 부모의 심리적 통제와 청소년의 우울 및 불안 간의 관계에서 청소년의 비합리적 신념이 매개 역할을 하는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경남 창원시 및 김해시 소재 6개 인문계 고등학교에 재학 중인 1, 2학년 남녀학생 759명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다.
본 연구의 주요한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 17문항으로 구성된 한글판 DAPCS를 개발하고, 확인적 요인분석을 통하여 의존지향 심리적 통제 4문항과 성취지향 심리적 통제 4문항으로 단축하였으며, 2요인의 타당성을 확인하였다. 둘째, 부모의 의존지향 심리적 통제와 성취지향 심리적 통제는 청소년의 자기비하와 승인욕구, 그리고 우울 및 불안과 정적인 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 부모의 의존지향 심리적 통제와 성취지향 심리적 통제는 청소년의 자기비하와 승인욕구에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 의존지향 심리적 통제는 승인욕구에, 성취지향 심리적 통제는 자기비하에 보다 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 부와 모의 성취지향 심리적 통제와 청소년의 우울 및 불안 간의 관계에서 청소년의 자기비하가 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 모의 의존지향 심리적 통제와 청소년의 불안 간의 관계에서 청소년의 승인욕구가 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 부의 심리적 통제가 승인욕구를 통해 우울과 불안에 이르는 경로는 발견되지 않았다.
본 연구는 부모의 심리적 통제(의존지향 심리적 통제, 성취지향 심리적 통제)가 청소년의 비합리적 신념(자기비하, 승인욕구)을 강화시켜 이를 통해 우울 및 불안 에 영향을 미치는 경로를 확인하였다. 이러한 결과를 통해 본 연구는 부모의 심리적 통제로 인한 우울 및 불안을 경험하는 청소년들의 상담 및 치료에 유용하게 활용될 수 있다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined the validity of DAPCS(The Dependency-oriented and Achievement-oriented Psychological Control Scale) presenting two types of parental psychological control after being translated in Korean. By using it, this study researched how the two types of parental psychological control would affect adolescents' irrational belief and depression and anxiety, and whether or not adolescents' irrational belief would play a role of mediation in the relations of parental psychological control and adolescents' depression and anxiety. To do this, the materials of 759 students were used subsequent to the survey on the first and second grade boy and girl students from six academic high schools around Changwon and Gimhae, Gyeongsang south province.
The important results from this study go like this. First, I developed 17 item-DAPCS in Korean, which was abbreviated to 8 item-DAPCS (dependancy-oriented psychological control 4 items and achievement-oriented psychological control 4 items) through confirmatory factor analysis. Finally, I made sure of the validity of 2 factors. Second, parental dependancy-oriented psychological control and achievement-oriented psychological control were positively correlated with adolescents' self-downing and need for approval, and depression and anxiety. Third, parental dependancy-oriented psychological control and achievement-oriented psychological control positively affect adolescents' self-downing and need for approval. Relatively dependancy-oriented psychological control makes more effect on need for approval while achievement-oriented psychological control makes more effect on self-downing. Fourth, adolescents' self-downing mediates between parental achievement-oriented psychological control and adolescents' depression and anxiety. And adolescents' need for approval mediates between mother's dependancy-oriented psychological control and adolescents' anxiety. However, there is no way where father's psychological control can reach depression and anxiety through need for approval.
Through this study, I can find that parental psychological control(dependancy-oriented psychological control, achievement-oriented psychological control) not only enforces adolescents' irrational belief(self-downing, need for approval) but also affects depression and anxiety through this. Based on these results, this study is significant in that it can be used in counsel and consultation with adolescents who are suffering from depression and anxiety caused by parental psychological control.
