(Abstract)
The purpose of study was to investigate the structural relationships among social support, parental attitude as perceived by adolescents, self-efficacy and ego-resilience which affect adolescents' school-adjustment.
For this study, 1,048 adolescents were, sampled from middle schools(N=420) and high schools(N=628) in Daegu metropolitan area.
The survey instruments used for this study were the School-Adjustment Scale, Social Support Scale, Parental Attitude Scale, Self-Efficacy Scale and Ego-Resilience Scale. Structural Equation Modeling Analysis using Amos 18.0 was utilized for data analysis.
The major findings of this study were as follows:
First, social support perceived by adolescents had direct and indirect influences on the adolescents' school-adjustment.
Second, parental attitude as perceived by adolescents had no direct influences on the adolescents' school-adjustment, but had indirect influences on school adjustment through self-efficacy.
Third, self-efficacy had direct influences on the adolescents' school-adjustment.
Based on these findings various theoretical and practical implications for social work were discussed.
