(Abstract)
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of group counseling Program through role playing on children`s perspective taking abilities.
The hypotheses for the study were as follows :
First, group counseling program through role playing will enhance Perspective taking abilities of children.
Second, group counseling program through role playing will enhance 3 sub-factors of Perspective Taking Abilities : intention perspective-taking, thought perspective-taking and affective perspective-taking.
The subjects of this study were 20 students in S kindergarten in Daegu, who understood the goal and procedure of training program and hoped to join the program.
They were organized into 2 groups, an experimental group and a control group, each having 10 students. This program for enhancing perspective taking abilities was carried out twice a week for 12 sessions(each session lasted for 50 minutes)
The scale of Perspective Taking Abilities used in this study was the test developed by Hudson, forman, and Brion and modified(or revised or supplemented) by Shin Hyeon-ok.

The rating scale of Perspective Taking Abilitie in this study consists of 3 sub-factors: intention perspective-taking, thought perspective-taking and affective perspective-taking.
The study conducted a pre-test, a post-test and a further-test for subordinate variables that showed a statistical differences as a result One-way ANOVA by using Turkey HSD. The study employed a SPSS for windows 12.0 for statistical processing, and the statistical significance level was set at .05 for verifying an assumption.
The result of this study was as follows:
First, The Group counseling Program through role playing has an effect on the enhancement on Perspective Taking Abilitie of children.
Second, The Group counseling Program through role playing has an effect on the 3 sub-factors Perspective Taking Abilitie: intention perspective-taking, thought perspective-taking and affective perspective-taking.
Therefore, this study is meaningful in that the Group counseling Program through role playing had been developed and tried, and it’s effect had proved.
