해방기 문학전집의 서지적 연구 = A Bibliographic Study on the Complete Collections of Literature Published around the Period of Liberation

This study is a research on the bibliographic points of the complete collections of literature published around the period of liberation. In comparison with the complete collections of literature published during the Japanese colonial period, this study intends to establish bases for full-scale researches on liberation-period novels that played an important role in the process of forming the canon of Korean literature. To concretely expose the actual conditions of the complete collections of literature published around the period of liberation, this study approached the complete collections of literature published around the period of liberation in the following ways. Firstly, it was to investigate the list of the complete collections of literature introduced in the advertising space, that is, the list of the complete collections of literature introduced in the book advertisement section of newspapers or magazines or in the back-matter advertisement of publications. Secondly, it was to carry out an bibliographic analysis of the complete collections of literature handed down at present, out of all the complete collections of literature published around the period of liberation. By focusing on these two kinds of materials, this study mainly arranged such data as publication years, publishing companies, publishers of the complete collections of literature published around the period of liberation as well as authors, their works, editorial comments and back-matter advertisements included in the complete collections of literature. As a result, it was possible to correct omissions and errors in the previous researches.
In the complete collections of literature published around the period of liberation, there was a more remarkable phenomenon of severance, rather than continuity appearing in the complete collections of literature published in the 1930s. Authors and their works included in the completed collections of literature will be good examples for this. In Chapter 2 of this thesis, the study briefly examined novels included in the complete collections of literature published during the Japanese colonial period and novels included in them, further comparing them with the actual conditions of the complete collections of literature published around the period of liberation.
There are 6 kinds of complete collections of literature published around the period of liberation, such as ？wThe Complete Collection of the Modern Joseon Literature？x(Jogwang Publisher), ？wThe Complete Collection of Joseon Representative Authors' Works？x(Seoul Times), ？wThe Selection of Joseon Short Literature？x(Beomjang-gak) published in 1946, ？wThe Collection of Joseon Novels？x(Ahmun-gak), ？wThe Collection of 24 Living Authors' Works？x(Baekmin Munhwa Publisher) published in 1947 and ？wThe Collection of Joseon Literature？x(Hanseong Books), ？wThe Selection of Liberation Literature？x(Jonglo Seowon) published in 1948.
The following is the features of the collections of literature published around the period of liberation. 󰡔The Complete Collection of the Modern Joseon Literature󰡕(？wCollection of Short Stories？xThree Deckers) published by Chosun Newspaper in 1946 was reissued by revising 󰡔The Complete Collection of the Modern Joseon Literature󰡕 published by Jogwang Publisher in 1938. Since the new version greatly revised authors and their works included in the original collection, it is possible to trace the flow of literary fields between the 1930s and the mid 1940s. Meanwhile, throughout ？wThe Collection of Joseon Literature？xpublished by Hanseon Books in 1948, there were many traces of 'censorship' appearing anywhere. Although the period of liberation was when a political antagonism was extreme between leftists and rightists, such a confrontation phenomenon between left and right wings rarely appeared in the complete collections of literature. Such an unusual phenomenon can be regarded to have reflected both left and right wings' intention to actively include moderate authors into their literature circles.
