The purpose of this study was to examine teacher’s job satisfaction and parent's satisfaction according to types of child care. 149 teachers and 189 parents from employer-supported child care centers, and 162 teachers and 195 parents from private child care centers located in Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Busan, and the Gyeongnam regions. To measure the job satisfaction, the questionnaire developed by Lee, Dong-A(2006) and Bae, Hye-Ja(2008) was used after modification and complement. To measure the satisfaction of parents, questionnaire developed by Park, So-Hyeong(2007) was used after modification and complement. Frequency analysis was conducted to identify general features of study subjects and a t-test was conducted to compare job satisfaction of teachers of employer-supported child care centers with private child care centers. The results of this study were as follows: first, significant difference was identified in teacher’s job satisfaction depending on types of child care centers. In all sub-categories of teacher’s job satisfaction such as relationship with the director, relations with coworkers, pay and welfares, teacher’s job satisfaction at employer-supported child care centers were found to receive much higher points than teacher’s job satisfaction at private child care centers. Second, there were significant difference in parent’s satisfaction between employer-supported child care centers and private child care centers. In all sub-categories of parent’s satisfaction including child care center, program, director, operation, results indicate thar parent’s satisfaction at employer-supported child care center was much higher than parent’s satisfaction at private child care centers. In order to provide a high-quality care services for children and improve teachers’ quality life, further research should study the cause of high level of job satisfaction of teachers’ at employer-supported child care centers.
