This study aims to verify the effect of The Communicational Training Program that can be used to help poor children. It is based on pre-test, post-test, and further-test of the counseling group and the comparative group.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of The Communicational Training Program on poor children's social skills.
The hypothesis used for this study is as follows:
1-1. The Communicational Training Program for poor children will improve poor children's social skills on the whole.
1-2. The Communicational Training Program for poor children will improve cooperation, self-assertion and self-control.
2-1. The Communicational Training Program for poor children will improve poor children's peer relational skills on the whole.
2-2. The Communicational Training Program for poor children will improve initiative, cooperation and empathy as subordinate concepts.
The research design to verify the hypotheses of this study is a variant of pre-test, post-test and further-test experiment design. The subjects of this study were 16 students who were from W elementary school in Dalseogu, Dae-gu(control group 8, experimental group 8). This program was performed twice a week for 5 weeks. The first session was carried out twice and each lasted for 40 minutes.
The scale of Social skills used in this study was the Test for Social skills developed by Kwon Se Eun.․ Lee Soon Hyung.(2002) The scale of Social skills are composed of cooperation, self-assertion and self-control. The scale of Peer relational skills used in this study was the Test for Social skills developed by Yang Yoon Ran(2005). The scale of Peer relational skills are composed of initiative, cooperation and empathy.
For statistics, SPSS for windows 18.0 is used as measurement and data processing means. The statistical significance level was set at .05. In data analysis, the study based on pre-test, post-test, and further-test, was to measure the effect of social skills, and peer relational skills.
The result of this study was as follows:
1-1. The Communicational Training Program for poor children improved their social skills.
1-2. The Communicational Training Program for poor children improved the sub-factors of social skills, namely cooperation, self-assertion, self-control.
2-1. The Communicational Training Program for poor children improved their peer relational skills.
2-2. The Communicational Training Program for poor children improved the sub-factors of peer relational skills, namely Initiative, Cooperation/Empathy.
