초등학생의 부적응적 완벽주의와 학업적 지연행동의 관계에서 실패공포의 매개효과 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 초등학생의 부적응적 완벽주의가 학업적 지연행동과 어떠한 관계가 있는지를 살펴보고, 부적응적 완벽주의와 학업적 지연행동 간의 관계에서 실패공포의 매개효과를 검증해봄으로써 학업적 지연행동으로 부적응을 겪고 있는 초등학생들에게 도움을 줄 수 있는 방법을 모색하고자 하는데 목적이 있다.
본 연구는 인천광역시 소재의 B 초등학교에 재학 중인 5, 6학년 385명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다.
측정도구로 완벽주의 척도(Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale : MPS), 학생용 지연행동평가 척도(Procrastination Assessment Scale-Student: PASS), 실패공포 척도(Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory-Revised: PFAI-R)를 사용하였다.
수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 15.0과 AMOS 7.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 기초분석으로써 각 척도의 하위변인에 대한 기술통계치와 척도의 신뢰도 분석을 실시하였고, 연구 변인들(부적응적 완벽주의, 실패공포, 학업적 지연행동) 간의 관계를 파악하기 위해 상관분석을 실시하였다. 또한 구조방정식을 이용하여 실패공포의 매개모형을 검증하였고 연구모형의 적합도와 잠재변인간 경로계수를 산출하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 부적응적 완벽주의와 실패공포 하위변인과의 상관관계는 유의한 정적상관을 보였다. 즉 부적응적 완벽주의 점수가 높을수록 실패공포 수준이 높아지고 실수에 대한 염려, 수행에 대한 의심, 부모기대, 부모비판이 많을수록 실패공포 수준이 높아짐을 의미한다. 부적응적 완벽주의와 학업지연행동 간의 관계를 살펴보면 낮은 정도의 정적 상관관계를 나타내었다. 이는 부적응적 완벽주의가 높을수록 학업지연 행동 점수가 높아짐을 의미한다. 실패공포와 학업지연행동 간의 상관관계를 살펴보면 낮은 정도의 정적상관을 보였다. 이는 실패공포 점수가 높아질수록 학업지연행동 점수가 높아진다는 것을 의미한다.
둘째, 부적응적 완벽주의와 학업적 지연행동의 관계에서 실패공포의 매개효과 검증에서는 부적응적 완벽주의와 학업적 지연행동 간의 관계에서 완전매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 부적응적 완벽주의는 실패공포를 경유하여 학업적 지연행동에 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있다.
본 연구는 초등학생 5, 6학년을 대상으로 부적응적 완벽주의가 학업적 지연행동에 미치는 영향에 있어서 실패공포의 매개효과를 검증하였고, 부적응적 완벽주의에 따른 학업적 지연행동과 관련하여 심리적 적응을 돕고 실패공포를 감소시키는데 통로로서의 시사점을 제공하여 상담과 생활지도에 도움을 줄 수 있게 하였다는 데에 의의가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to find that there is any relationship between Maladaptive Perfectionism of elementary school students and academic procrastination and find the method to help elementary school students who are facing inadequacy by academic procrastination by confirming Mediating effect of failure fear in the relationship between Maladaptive Perfectionism and academic procrastination.
In this study, the survey was performed with the objects of 385 students of 5th and 6th grade in Incheon B elementary school.
Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale : MPS, Procrastination Assessment Scale-Student: PASS and Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory-Revised: PFAI-R are used as Measuring Tools.
The data collected performed descriptive statistics regarding the sub-factors of each scale and reliability analysis of each scale using SPSS WIN 15.0 and AMOS 7.0 analysis program and correlation analysis was conducted to find the relationship among research variables (Maladaptive perfectionism, failure fear, academic Procrastination). In addition, parameter model of failure fear was verified using structural equation and fit of research model and path coefficients among potential factors were calculated using structural equation.
The results of this study can be summarized as follows.
First, the correlation between Maladaptive perfectionism and sub-variables of failure fear showed significantly positive relationship. In other words, the higher score of Maladaptive perfectionism, the higher the level of failure fear and the higher concern about mistakes, doubts, parent expectations and parental criticism, the higher level of failure fear. Investigating the relationship between maladaptive perfectionism and academic procrastination, it shows positive relationship of low degree. It means the higher score of failure fear, the higher academic procrastination.
Second, mediating effects of failure fear completely mediate in the relationship of he Maladaptive perfectionism and academic procrastination. Thus, we can find that maladaptive perfectionism via failure fear influence academic procrastination.
This study verified mediating effects of failure fear regarding the effects of Maladaptive perfectionism to academic procrastination for the target of elementary school students of 5th and 6th grade and helps psychological adjustment related to academic procrastination according to Maladaptive perfectionism and counseling and life guidance by providing implications to decrease failure fear.
