남자 고등학생의 부모지지에 대한 인식과 완벽주의 성향이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향

The aim of this study was to investigate the affect parental support had on the degree to which a male high school student prepared his career. In this way guidance could be provided for male high school students seeking to make rational career decisions for students and for parents in upbringing their children. The study was carried out by examining the variables which affect the career preparing behavior of the students.
In order to identify the influences of career preparing behavior (i.e. dependent variable) of male high school students this study set up two independent variables, the parental support perceived by high school students and the tendency to perfectionism of a student which were based on the outcomes of previous researches regarding career preparation behavior. This paper employed a questionnaire to survey 335 male high school students who were in the 1stand2nd grade of a high school in the Seoul area based on the SPSS17.0 program with Correlation Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of survey are as follows.
Firstly, the fact that parental support perceived by high school students and the tendency to perfectionism of a student influences the degree of career preparation behavior proved that there was a significant correlation between parental support and the degree of career preparation behavior. Additionally, there was a partial correlation both negative and positive between the degree of career preparing behavior and the tendency to perfectionism of students.
Secondly, the influence of parental support and the degree of career preparation behavior of high school students was considerably influenced by sub-factors of parental support which were career related modeling and emotional support whereas the variables related to verbal support showed negative correlations. Furthermore, instrumental help was not influenced by any correlation to all the sub-factors. These findings indicated that among the independent variables of parental support perceived by high school students of which an increase in the level of career related modeling and emotional support lead to a greater degree of career preparation.
Thirdly, the influence of the tendency to perfectionism and the degree of career preparing behavior of high school students markedly affect all sub-factors of the tendency to perfectionism specifically, one of sub-factors in the personal standards had a positive impact on career seeking, activity of gathering information, working experience, preparing to work and so. Among the sub-factors of the tendency to perfectionism such as anxiety of making mistakes, expectations of parents and organized variables influenced any correlation to all the sub-factors. On the other hand, the precariousness of performance of one other sub-factors of the tendency to perfectionism showed a significant negative correlation to career seeking, activity of working experience, and the preparing to work. Moreover, one other sub-factor of parental blaming of children was influenced by a negative impact only on the activity of gathering information. These findings showed that the career preparing behavior of male high school students are influenced by the sub-factors of tendency to perfectionism partially opposed-impacts and especially, the career seeking, the activity of gathering information, working experience, preparing to work for students were remarkably influenced by the personal standards of the sub-factors in tendency to perfectionism compared to other sub-factors.
In conclusion of this study, the dependent variable for career preparing behavior of male high school students is influenced by the independent variable of parental support and the tendency to perfectionism of students. In this context, there should be an increase in the degree of the parental support perceived by high school students when students practically prepare their career and also, parents should be aware of the value of role modeling for their children who are male high school students such as a opportunity to have a vicarious experience, emotional support, and attention to positively and sufficiently in order to reducing difficulties of students. Further, the sub-factors of the tendency to perfectionism especially, the variable of precariousness for performance which cause lower confidence and raising anxiety when students prepare the activity of working experience and preparing to work. Therefore, a student who has a tendency to perfectionism should be understood and thereby adjust their psychological inner-factors. Moreover, as it was previously mentioned that all variables such as the career seeking, the activity of gathering information, working experience and preparing to work for students were remarkably influenced by according to the personal standards of the sub-factors in tendency to perfectionism. This means, when an individual makes high own standards which is a crucially significant factor compared to other sub-factors or variables while male high school students prepare their careers Therefore, the importance between the establishment of individual criteria and rational choice should be considered an important factor.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 남자 고등학생의 진로준비행동에 영향을 미치는 변인들을 규명하고 그 영향을 밝혀, 고등학생들의 합리적 진로탐색 및 결정을 도울 수 있는 진로상담 및 부모교육을 위한 자료를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 고등학생의 진로준비행동과 관련된 선행
연구의 결과를 바탕으로 독립변인으로 남자 고등학생이 지각한 부모지지와 완벽주의 성향을 설정하여 이 변인들이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향력에 대하여 분석하였다.
본 연구에서는 서울소재 인문계 고등학교 1학년 2학년 남학생들을 대상으로 조사한 335명의 설문지를 SPSS 17.0 프로그램을 사용하여 상관분석과 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 남자 고등학생이 지각한 부모지지와 완벽주의 성향이 진로준비행동에 유의미한 상관이 있는지 확인한 결과, 진로준비행동과
부모지지, 요인 간에 유의한 정적 상관을 나타냈다. 진로준비행동과 완벽주의 성향과는 부분적으로 정적상관과 부적상관의 결과가 나타났다.
둘째, 부모지지가 남자 고등학생의 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴 본 결과, 부모지지의 하위요인 중 진로관련 모델링과 정서적 지지가 진로준비행동에 유의미한 정적영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 언어적 격려 변인은 부적영향을 나타냈으며, 도구적 조력은 모든 하위요인에 유의미한 영향이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이로써 남자 고등학생이 지각한 부모지지 중 진로관련 모델링과 정서적 지지의 수준이 높을수록 진로준비행동 수준이 높아지는 것으로 확인되었다.
셋째, 고등학생의 진로준비행동에 완벽주의 성향이 미치는 영향을 살펴 본 결과 완벽주의 성향의 하위요인 중 개인적기준이 진로탐색과 정보수집활동과 직업체험활동과 취업준비활동 등 모든 하위요인에
높은 정적영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 완벽주의 성향의 하위요인 중 실수에 대한 염려와 부모에 대한 기대, 그리고 조직화 변인은 모든 하위요인에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 반면에 수행에 대한 의심 하위요인은 진로탐색과 직업체험활동과 취업준비활동에 유의미한 부적영향을 나타내었다. 또한 부모에 대한 비판요인은 정보수집활동에만 부적영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
결과내용과 같이 남자 고등학생이 진로준비행동을 하는데 개인적인 변인인 완벽주의성향은 부분적으로 상반된 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있고. 특히 하위요인 중 개인적 기준 수준에 따라 정보수집활동과
진로탐색이나 취업준비활동 변인은 상대적으로 높은 영향을 받고 있음을 알 수 있다.
본 연구의 결과를 종합해보면 부모지지와 완벽주의 성향은 남자 고등학생들이 진로준비행동을 하는데 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 고등학생이 실제적으로 진로를 준비하는 행동의 수준을 높이기
위하여 그들이 지각한 부모지지의 수준을 향상시키는 것이 필요하며 부모들도 고등학생 자녀들에게 진로에 대한 모델 역할의 중요함을 인식하여 대리경험의 기회를 제공하여 진로를 선택함에 있어 구체적인 관심과 정서적으로 긍정적인 지지를 함으로써 남자 고등학생의 진로준비행동을 하는데 있어서 어려움을 줄 일 수 있도록 지원을 아끼지 말아야 할 것이다.
또한 개인적 변인인 완벽주의 성향은 특히 수행에 대한 의심 변인이 진로탐색과 직업체험활동과 취업준비활동을 준비하는데 불안감과 자신감을 떨어뜨리는 역기능적 영향을 주기 때문에 완벽주의 성향인 심리내적 요인을 이해하고 조절할 필요가 있다. 완벽주의 성향의 하위요인 중 개인적인 기준 수준에 따라 진로탐색, 정보수집활동, 직업체험활동 및 취업준비활동 등 모든 변인에 높은 영향을 나타내고 있으므로 이는
개인이 세우는 높은 기준이 남자 고등학생들이 진로준비행동을 하는데 더 많은 영향을 준다는 것을 알 수 있으므로 개인기준의 설정에 현실적인 선택적 기준이 중요함을 인식해야 할 것이다.
