The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of group art therapy by positive psychology on self efficacy, depression, and emotional stability of middle school students in foster home.
This program was for foster homes who go to middle school in B city. Those students were randomly allocated to an experimental group and a controlled group by 7 students. The Program used for verifying the effectiveness of the self-efficacy, depression, emotional stability test . The experimental group had for 90 minutes a night during two days very intensively. The group art therapy program based on positive psychology and the controlled group was not taken any action.
To prove the effectiveness of this program and to know average and standard deviation of preliminary and post test for the experimental group and controlled group were calculated through SPSS/WIN+18 program, and ANCOVA was performed to verify the difference between the two groups.
To make up for quantitative result, got the research of statistical analysis report and the experience of participants, all sessions reports, the inspector figure projected to test K-HTP and qualitative research basis on behavioral analysis .
The followings are the results of statistical analyses. First, the middle school students who attended art therapy program based on positive psychology enhanced self-efficacy than others who didn't attend the program. Second, the middle school students who attended art therapy program based on positive psychology reduced depression than others who didn't attend the program. Third, the middle school students who attended art therapy program based on positive psychology enhanced emotional stability than others who didn't attend the program.
According to this study, the program based on positive psychology helped middle school students who are foster homes enhancing self-efficacy and emotional stability and reducing depression. Therefore, this program is good for foster middle school students to improve the quality of life by demonstrating their strong ability and have a good life by positive thinking about the future.
