스포츠의 세계화와 세방화에 따른 한국스포츠의 문제점과 과제 = The problem and assignment of korea sports through sport globalization and glocalization

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Over the past few decades, globalization has been advancing through emerging of neoliberalism, an info-communications revolution, etc. Sports is one of the parts that change rapidly.
In 1990, Maguire started to study about the globalization of sports field. After that, many scholars from different countries carried out a lot of research. And they presented their view of globalization in sports field. Some scholars believed that globalization gave us new possibilities and opportunities, others said that it benefits only few countries which is a global economic power. Even though the globalizatin is somewhat undesirable, we have no choice but to face it. They also said that we have to accept the inevitable. There are two opinions about the globalization of sports field, americanization and unification. There is a great diversity of opinion, but they all have one thing is in common. It is a part of social change.
Korea is experiencing globalization as well as globalization in sports field. For this reason, globalization of sports field results in international competitiveness through increased sports fan, interest and improved sports facilities, skills. It also causes some obstacles that korea has to overcome.
Globalization of sports is still very much a subject for debate of sport sociology from 1990. foreign scholars see that as americanization, cultural imperialism, unification, etc. They have many points of view and different kinds of study was performed. Later, studies were focused on regionalism in globalization. Though domestic research about globalization of sports was little late, there is vibrant research on that.
This study covers the meaning of sports globalization, glocalization(the meeting of globalization and localization), nationalism in glocalization. In addition, based on globalization and glocalization, the purpose of this study is problem and assignment of sports in korea.
