This study has its purpose in observing the effect of gang-gang-sulae in preschooler dance education. To meet this goal we will first perform literature research, and then move on to surveys and analysis. We have set several thesis as stated below.
Thesis 1. Gang-gang-sulae increases the interest of school parents.
Thesis 2. Gang-gang-sulae has educational effects to the preschoolers.
Thesis 3. Gang-gang-sulae can develop preschooler emotionally and physically.
Thesis 4. Gang-gang-sulae improves the consistency of desire in education.
Through literature research, we have set up a guidance plan of gang-gang-sulae. The contents are 'Listening to the music - Learning the meaning of the game - Participating the game - Changing the lyrics of the song'.
The gang-gang-sulae program was held 8 times during August 2010 to November 2010. The study subjects were 53 kindergarteners living in Namyangju-si, Kyunggido. To fully understand the effect each infant was interviewed and observed. The school parents were also surveyed.
The survey consists with 3 questions about demography, 4 questions about the interest of gang-gang-sulae, 4 questions about the educational effect, 3 questions in development of the physical emotional field, and 3 questions about the desire of continuing. The questionnaires for the adults consists the same questions with the exceptional of demography questions.
The results achieved by these processes can be summarized as below.
First, the overall interests of the students were pretty high, most of them gave 'very much' in the questions which asked them interest. The result didn't differ by the age, sex, and education years of the student. From the school parents view, gang-gang-sulae got a positive response in the necessity and interest factors. Therefore if we emphasize the advantages of gang-gang-sulae - like the musical rhythm, the simple easy movements, and the natural attractiveness as a game- a higher response could be expected.
Second, as we analyzed the educational effects of gang-gang-sulae, the survey shows that most of the kids answered 'yes' and 'very much' in the questions about memorizing songs, and dance movements. Also 80.4% of the students answered that they have actually practised the game after learning it from school. By these results we can conclude that gang-gang-sulae is an activity that induces children's attention.
Third, as we moved on to the emotional, physical development factor, we could find out that the questionnaires about emotional satisfaction and desires marked high grades with mostly 'very much' answers. The physical development field marked mainly 'very much' and 'yes'. As we can define the essential objective of preschooler dancing as improvement in physical movements, rise in emotional stability and self expression, the effect of gang-gang-sulae proves to be the appropriate material for education.
Fourth, as we analyzed whether the preschoolers wanted to continue on gang-gang-sulae education, majority of students answered 'Very much', and 'Yes'. The positive answer percentage of school parents were 82%, showing that they were possessing good feelings about this education activity.
