This study focuses on the condition of Personal Assistance Service for Students with Severe Disabled. This study is performed by investigation research method from quantitative research method. 185 Students with Severe Disabled, who got supplement of Personal Assistance Service from complex center for the disabled and self-reliance life center for disabled, are participated on survey from June 28, 2010 to August 25, 2010. Total 121 survey papers were used for analysis. Based on authorized work sheet of Personal Assistance Service for the disabled of 2010, investigation method is fixed and compensated with characteristic of investigation object. SPSS 17.0 is used to analyze collected data.
Ratio of male is higher than that of female for gender of participated students with Severe Disabled. Age is distributed from 6 years old to 18 years old, and the average age is 11 years old. Names of diagnosis are investigated in order as brain lesions, intellectual disability, autism, orthopedic disorder, visual impairment, and mental disorder. Averagely, 3 years and 5 months old is the age to get disability diagnosis. Half of the whole are elementary school students. After this researcher investigates about integration, results of investigation are 52 integrated students and 69 unintegrated students.
After this researcher look at present condition of supply and demand for Personal Assistance Service of Students with Severe Disabled, most of students get Personal Assistance Service from complex center for the disabled. Answer for using service by need of oneself is the highest. Using period of Personal Assistance Service is distributed from 1 month to 4 years and 9 months, and half of students use Personal Assistance Service for 60 hours per month, 5 times a week, and 3 to 4 hours for once. Also, half of the whole use Personal Assistance Service from the places such as house and hospital, they want to receive continuous service of situation treatment support and private activity support.
After this researcher look at present condition of use for content about Personal Assistance Service of Students with Severe Disabled, categories, which are reclothing and using bathroom for situation treatment support, cleaning (especially for surroundings) for home activity support, accompaniment for going out, school commuting supplement for private activity support, companion and cheering for emotion support, management of hour and schedule and using equipment for other service support, are highly appeared as the answer. Also, analysis of relationship between causes, which are gender, grade, type of disability, combination, and content of Personal Assistance Service such as situation treatment support, home activity support, private activity support, and other service support does not have any meaningful difference.
After this researcher look at satisfaction for Personal Assistance Service of Students with Severe Disabled, categories, that are movement assistance for situation treatment support, Cleaning for home activity support, recreation for private activity support, companion and cheering for emotion support, and using equipment for other service support, have answer for high satisfaction about service.
When this researcher analyze the satisfaction between causes, which are gender, grade, type of disability, combination, and content of Personal Assistance Service such as situation treatment support, home activity support, private activity support, and other service support, the satisfaction of situation treatment support has difference of meaningful level by integration of Students with Severe Disabled.
The vitalization of using Personal Assistance Service of Students with Severe Disabled needs characterization and systematization for offering of continuous service.
