대학생의 자아분화와 진로의사결정이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this research is to investigate how the self differentiation and the career decision-making affect the career preparation behaviors and to take advantage of it as the materials to improve the level of the career preparation behaviors of university students. In order to achieve this goal, the research problems were set up as follows:
First, the self differentiation of university students will have a significant effect on the career preparation behaviors.
Second, the types of the career decision-making of university students will have a significant effect on the career preparation behaviors.
The subjects for the study were the students taking a liberal arts course at the university located in Wonju and Gangneung. The questionnaires of 170 male students and 137 female students are used to analyze the data.
The instruments used for this study were 「Self-Differentiation Scale」(Je, 1989) based on Bowen's theory of family systems, 「ACDM : Assessment of career Decision Making」developed by Harren(1984) and translated, revised, and complemented by Koh(1992), and 「Assessment of Career Preparati0n behaviors」developed by Kim(1997) with the two items from Kim(2002). The data were analyzed by Correlation Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis by using SPSS ver. 17.
The results of the analysis were as follows: First, the analysis of the effects of the self differentiation of the university students on the career preparation behaviors showed that among the sub-factors of the self differentiation, self-integrity has a significant effect on the career preparation behavior.
Second, the analysis of the effects of the types of the career decision-making on the career preparation behaviors showed that rational types affected the sub- factors (information collecting activities, practical efforts) and the overall of the career preparation behaviors positively, and that dependent types of the career decision-making negatively affected a sub-factor(the instrument preparation activities) and the overall of the career preparation behaviors.
Third, the analysis of relative effects of the self-differentiation and the career decision-making on the career preparation behaviors showed that the rational types of the career decision-making had significant effects on the career preparation behaviors only.
These results indicate that the self integrity of the self-differentiation and the rational types of the career decision making have significant effects on the career preparation behaviors of the university students. A high self integrity, as an indicator of maintaining their beliefs and life principles, and the decision-making in thoughtful and rational ways through the realistic assessment and information on the self and the situation imply that it will be achieved when the students have self-identities based on their own emotional independence.
Therefore, to improve the level of the career preparation behaviors at the on-the-spot counseling, the level of the students' self differentiation and the rational types of the career decision making should be improved. To achieve this, it is required that the parents help their children live with their own independent identities standing in the center of their lives, and that counseling the parents be accompanied.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 진로결정에 있어서 중요한 선택 시점에 있는 대학생의 자아분화와 진로의사결정이 진로준비행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고 대학생의 진로준비행동 수준을 높이기 위한 정보로 활용하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다.
첫째, 대학생의 자아분화는 진로준비행동에 유의미한 영향을 미칠 것이다. 둘째, 대학생의 진로의사결정 유형에 따라 진로준비행동에 유의미한 영향을 미칠 것이다.
연구대상으로는 강원도 원주와 강릉에 소재하고 있는 4년제 대학교 교양과목을 수강하는 대학생에게 설문지 400부를 배부한 결과 남학생 170명, 여학생 137명의 설문지를 분석 자료로 사용하였다.
연구도구로는 Bowen의 가족체계이론을 토대로 제석봉(1989)이 개발한 자아분화 척도, Harren(1984)이 개발하고 고향자(1993)가 번역하고 수정․보완하여 제작한 진로의사결정 유형 검사 척도, 김봉환(1997)이 연구 개발한 진로준비행동 검사에 김형균(2003)이 2문항을 추가한 척도를 사용하였으며, SPSS ver. 17을 이용하여 상관관계분석과 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생의 자아분화가 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 자아분화의 하위요인에서 자아통합이 진로준비행동에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 진로의사결정 유형에 따라 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 합리적 유형은 진로준비행동의 하위요인(정보수집활동, 실천적 노력)과 전체에 정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 의존적 유형은 진로준비행동의 하위요인(도구구비활동)과 전체에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 자아분화와 진로의사결정이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 자아분화보다 진로의사결정의 합리적 유형이 진로준비행동에 더 많은 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
이러한 결과를 통해 대학생들의 진로준비행동에는 자아분화의 자아통합과 진로의사결정의 합리적 유형이 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있다. 자신의 신념과 생활 원리를 잘 견지하고 있는가를 나타내주는 자아통합이 높은 것과 자아나 상황에 대하여 현실적으로 평가하고 정보를 통해 사려 깊고 합리적인 방식으로 의사결정 한다는 것은 자신의 정서적인 자주성을 바탕으로 자신이 주체가 되어야만 가능한 것이다.
그러므로, 상담현장에서 진로준비행동 수준을 높이기 위해서는 학생들의 자아분화 수준과 진로의사결정의 합리적인 유형을 향상시켜 주어야 한다. 이를 위하여 자녀가 스스로 독립된 주체로 살아 갈 수 있도록 한 걸음 뒤로 물러나 자기 인생의 중심으로 설 수 있도록 도와주는 부모 역할이 중요함으로 부모 상담도 병행할 필요가 있다.
