In this study, a multiple baseline, single-subject design across settings was used to assess the effects of implementing positive behavior support for the out-of-seat behavior and task performance on a thirteen year-old boy with mental retardation during three classroom activities (i.e., math, korean, and art). The conditions in the design were implemented as following; A = baseline, B=intervention, and C = maintenance. For establishing the appropriate intervention, Functional Behavioral Analysis(FBA) was implemented. According to the FBA, multiple interventions such as related setting-event, antecedental, consequential were implemented. Results indicated that the positive behavior support decrease the target student's out-of-seat behavior and increase the task performance during the classroom activities. Moreover, short-term maintenance data pointed out that the child was retaining low occurrences of out-of-seat behavior and high frequency of the task performance up to two weeks later.
