The purpose of this study is to find out the Influence of Achievement Objective Propensity and Self-Management on the Concentration of Professional Dancers. In order to achieve the goal of the study, the study subjects were selected from professional dancers active in professional dancing groups as of 2010. Sampling was done through factor analysis using correlation in order to verify the validity of the survey, and 350 were sampled from mainly the dancers of 8 national/regional/municipal professional organizations in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Chungcheong-do (Seoul Metropolitan Dance Theatre, Daejeon Metropolitan Dance Theatre, Pocheon Metropolitan Dance Theatre, Cheonan Metropolitan Dance Theatre, National Center for Korean Traditional Performing Arts, Gangwon Regional Dance Theatre, Jeongdong Art Theatre, Samsung Dance Theatre); discarding unequal or poor data, 300 were used for analysis.
For survey, the questionnaire based on self-administration was used, and the composition of the questionnaire included personal characteristics as the environment variable, achievement objective propensity as the independent variable, self-management as the parametric variable, and concentration on dancing as the dependent variable.
In order to achieve the goals of this study, the data processing method included discarding poor or unreliable responses, entering the analyzable data into the computer, and analyzing/processing with SPSS Win ver. 17.0 according to the following method. Each theory was verified at the significance level of a=.05. Also, in order to find out the differences due to personal characteristics, frequency analysis was used, and to find out the iind out the achievement objective propensity and self-management on the concentration of professional dancers, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were ef-maned. From these study methods and procedures, the following conclusion was drawn.
First, the achievement objective propensity was found to have influence on the subsidiary factors of self-management: namely, mental management, personal relations, and training management.
Second, the achievement objective propensity was found to have significant influence on the subsidiary factors of concentration on dancing: namely, recognitive concentration and active concentration.
Third, self-management was found to have significant influence on the subsidiary factors of concentration on dancing: namely, recognitive concentration and active concentration.
Combining above results, it proves that the achievement objective propensity and self-management are variables with significant influence on the concentration on dancing. This provides useful information for effective concentration on dancing for professional dancers.
