This study was to clarify the effects of the marketing mix 6P of a Taekwondo academy influencing the switching barrier and repurchase intention and suggest it as a marketing strategy required form Taekwondo academy management activation for the subject of trainee parents who are the final decision-makers in the registration for a Taekwondo academy.
As for the subject of this study, 8 Taekwondo academies located at the Seoul Jungnang-gu area were selected to establish the parents of trainees being trained there as a population and used the convenience sampling among non-probability sampling to extract a sample from Mar. 3 to Mar. 13, 2010. A total of 400 persons participated in the questionnaire and 11 persons were excluded because they were considered to give insincere responses to the practically used questionnaire so that 389 persons were treated as effective samples.
As for the investigation tool, based on the questionnaires used for the studies of Go Bong-su (2006), Kim Sang-jong (2007), Kim Hun-gyu (2010), Lee Jun-gyung (2009) and Kang Dong-ho (2010), it was recomposed in order to be in compliance with the purpose of this study and according to necessities, partial question items were revised and supplemented. The questionnaire was composed of a total of 65 question items and the way of preparation for the questionnaire used self-administration which directly enter answers by respondents.
Concerning the analysis method, 17.0 Version of SPSS Program was used and first of all, Frequency Analysis was performed in order to understand the demographic characteristics of the investigation subject and after performance of reliability test about each question item, reliability between question items was measured to examine predictability and accuracy and Exploratory Factor Analysis was performed for propriety analysis. In addition, in order to review the recognition difference about the marketing mix 6P according to the demographic characteristics, as the average difference verification, T-test and One Way Anova and post-hoc were performed and in order to understand the strategic relations of the marketing mix 6P, Correlation Analysis was used. Furthermore, Multiple Regression Analysis was utilized to examine the effects of the recognition of the marketing mix 6P influencing the switching barrier and repurchase intention as well as understand the results from the Correlation Analysis in detail.
The conclusions deducted from the results from the study procedures and data analysis are as below.
First, as a result of verification of the marketing mix 6P differences according to the demographic characteristics, the recognition differences about the Taekwondo academy marketing mix 6P, namely, product, place, price, promotion, people and physical evidence were different according to children sex, children grade, children training period, scholarly attainments and monthly income of the Taekwondo trainee parents. Therefore, it is required for the Taekwondo academy to fist understand how the parents recognize the marketing mix 6P and consider the level of living, regional situations and
Second, in the part of the effect of the Taekwondo academy marketing mix 6P influencing the switching barrier, it was understood that the Taekwon academy marketing mix 6P makes a very significant influence on alternative attractiveness, switching cost and mutual personal relations among the sub-variables of the switching barrier. Therefore, the Taekwondo academy should make the recognition about the marketing mix 6P look good to prevent the existing customers from leaving it for another academy by raising the switching barrier.
Third, in the part of the effects of the Taekwondo academy marketing mix 6P influencing the repurchase intention, it was found that the Taekwon academy marketing mix 6P makes a very significant influence on training continuance intention and word-of-mouth intention among the sub-variables of the repurchase intention. Therefore, the Taekwondo academy should give trainees
Fourth, in the part of the effects of the switching barrier influencing the repurchase intention, it was shown that the mutual personal relations, alternative attractiveness and switching cost as switching barriers influencing continuance intention and word-of-mouth intention among the sub-variables of the repurchase intention were influenced by the switching barrier in order. Therefore, an owner or master should try to keep good relations in order for the Taekwondo academy to increase mutual reliance and as a method to reduce alternative attractiveness, differentiation of service quality, differentiation of service personal resources, price differentiation and differentiation of enterprise image should be equipped and because customers have more risk and burden as the switching cost become higher, it can raise reliance on service providers and after all, the possibility of customer preservation can be raised. In this connection, a system to raise the switching barrier should be introduced by building high switching cost.
When it comes to the summary of the above results, it can be said that the better the recognition of the Taekwondo academy marketing mix 6P is, the higher the switching barrier and repurchase intention are and in addition, the higher the switching barrier is, the higher the repurchase intention is.
