Recently People encounter more various music than the past in which music showed directly and by ways of persons and audio-media.
Because of development of modern technology, we can listen to music through Audio-Visual media like the Internet and TV. This is not only relevant to the change of media that we experience the music on. It has important meaning that the music field can expand over countries, ages, and instruments through media. Furthermore, each art -for example Music, dancing, fine art, etc- is not divided by performance but becomes organic especially in Audio-Visual media like Movies and Advertisements.
Also, Now is the time for a new age of visual information in 3 dimension media like TV, Portable movie players, and cellular phones which are perceptible by human’s five senses. We can feel music not by sense of hearing but by all five senses.
Moreover, the rapid development of modern technology has influences on students so let them have some characteristics of adolescence. 6th graders in elementary school are already as physically mature as middle school students and can enjoy their own music culture with popular songs. Also they want to take on the appearance, fashion, and way of speaking of entertainers on TV.
In this study, according to the needs that construct more practical lesson to the student's life and dynamic lesson of music which meet the demands of the times, suggest the contents construction method for music lessons by using Audio-Visual materials on media.
The Process is as follows;
First, I searched the concepts and characteristics of Audio-Visual media and considered educational suitability of Audio-Visual media and the music on it.
Second, the theory of effectiveness about using visual materials in music lessons is considered. And I searched about the basis of using various contemporary music in cognitive, developmental, and social- environmental aspects.
Third, I examined the purpose of using audio-visual materials in textbooks, and the multimedia teaching resources 'Tnara' and 'i-scream'.
Fourth, for the purpose above, I constructed the contents of lessons using Audio-Visual media for the music concepts, music activities, and students’ mental development.
The contents, which are given through this study, may be better reorganized for each music class, making more methodical lessons. Lessons also become more practical and creative if teachers use more newly updated materials.
