Among art performances, which received great popularity from public, dance performance receive the least attention to public. Hence, this thesis aim to explore and suggest active solution on dance performance market.
In the current market, the dance performance faces difficulties due to: communication problem with public, absence of art management education, financial problem, simplicity on marketing channel and absence of effective exposure in content, and so on. It is true made that various approaches and attempts were constantly made which started in 2000. And they are slowly showing fruitful outcomes.
Among the successful outcomes, the two most representative cases are: National Ballet Company (Ballet with narration) and Universal Ballet Company (Ballet performance visiting audience).
For example, the National Ballet Company (Ballet with narration), which is exclusive art but provided an opportunity to their audience with free admission and narration to help the audiences' understanding; hence, it attracted a large audiences than expected. Currently, it is not awkward of the word 'ballet star' to become well-known to public audience and is concerned as a successful example. On the other hand, the Universal Ballet Company (Ballet performance visiting audience), to make their performance active, they applied the CRM (which is practiced on companies), and other professional analysis. Furthermore, the company started complete customer's reaction. There are sources kept on how to keep high quality performance and its image while providing visit service to their audience. Soon, the result was shown through ticket reservation. Constant development on dance industry through spontaneous construction in order to make consistent process in leading successful cases.
This thesis not only provide the successful cases of professional ballet company but also explore on the constant development through structural construction of the foundation which link to success. This suggests to the dance industry very big effective attempt to make dance popularization. Through the successful cases as a background, this dissertation draws three conclusions.
First, professional ballet groups' popularization towards constant attempt will be great foundation on structural construction and need consistent content through constant development. Second, ballet companies should avoid to recover deficit from government or enterprises' support but attempt to success through effective marketing channel and improve the quality of performance. Last, need to read and learn the audience. Continually, search for great repertory. Art culture provides root in Korea society, social environment, and government policy need to together support in order for dance field to become a step forwards public.
But also need to remember that not to only concentrate on the successful cases but also to focus on the standard structural construction movement as a culture that occupy its position.
Performance art as well as dance performance, the successful cases of constant accumulation is essential. These example cases show great possibility in investing manpower and abundant resource as a core resource in dance performance. Additionally, the inflow of resource need to be converted to support the production cost through professional management's guidance.
