청소년 자원봉사활동의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 : 서울지역 청소년자원봉사자를 중심으로 = A Study on Factors of Youth Volunteers' Satisfaction : Focusing on Youth Volunteers in City of Seoul

The purpose of this study is to find more effective way of utilizing volunteer work for juveniles through their satisfaction level of the work. To achieve this objective, literature research and survey were conducted. In reference to studying the satisfaction of volunteer work, literature research was conducted to find out theoretical aspects of common meaning, participation methods, characteristics, motivation and activities of volunteer work.
Different methods of teenage volunteer work (individual or clubs), variables of activities, interpersonal relations, pre-training, characteristics (activity, motivation, area, time, duration) were analyzed to discover factors affecting the satisfaction level of teenage volunteer work.
The study surveyed 170 middle and highschool students who have participated in volunteer work from Seoul Youth Center in which 144 were collected to be used. In order to prove the hypotheses through the data collected, frequency analysis, average and other statistics were calculated by using SPSS WIN 16.0.
Furthermore, Independent T-test and One-way ANOVA were conducted to understand the relationship of the variables for volunteer work activities and Pearson Correlation and Multiple Regression Analysis were used to observe the factors affecting the satisfaction level of volunteer work. Based on this study, following plans are proposed to vitalize volunteer work for juveniles.
First, the study showed that the participating volunteer work through groups or clubs affected the satisfaction level. Instead of using youth volunteer work as a basic labor to complete their required service hours, it should expand its areas to specialized fields and give more opportunities for participation from various types of groups and clubs.
Second, continuous pre-training plan should be implemented. Schools and local youth service organizations should make pre-training mandatary to all teenagers participating the work before they start the service.
Third, guidance and training are needed for the coordinators of youth service organizations. The study showed that they are the biggest factor affecting the satisfaction level of youth volunteer work. More they respect teenagers and have better relationships with them, the satisfaction level was higher. In addition, there's a need of developing coordinators into specialists of the field so that they are able to encourage teenagers to think positively about volunteer work and continue participating in the work.

Fourth, the youth volunteer work network should be expanded so that information about volunteer work can be provided comprehensively and systematically. Most teenagers find information by themselves, from school or their parents when selecting which area they want to volunteer. It is advisable to have on-line site where comprehensive information is provided and collected from. In addition, Office of Education, local youth volunteer organizations and their respective affiliates should also be part of this information network.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 청소년들의 자원봉사활동 만족요인을 알아봄으로써 자원봉사의 보다 효율적인 활용방안을 모색해 보고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구는 문헌연구와 설문조사를 병행하였고, 문헌연구로는 자원봉사활동 만족도에 대한 선행연구를 참조로 자원봉사활동의 일반적 의미와 자원봉사활동 참여형태, 특성, 활동관련 제 변인들에 대한 이론적 고찰을 하였다. 청소년 자원봉사활동 만족도에 영향을 미치는 제 변인들을 알아보기 위해 청소년 자원봉사활동의 참여형태(개인, 동아리)에 따른 만족도 차이 및 활동내용 변인, 대인관계 변인, 사전교육 변인의 만족도 차이, 자원봉사 활동특성(활동내용, 동기, 분야, 시간, 기간)에 따라 제 변인들의 만족도 차이, 자원봉사활동 만족도에 영향을 미치는 변인(활동내용 변인, 대인관계 변인, 사전교육 변인)들을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 조사대상은 서울특별시 청소년수련시설인 청소년수련관에서 자원봉사활동 경험이 있는 중․고등학생 170명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 144부를 수집하여 활용하였다. 자료 분석에는 SPSS WIN 16.0을 사용하여 빈도분석과 백분율 및 평균 등을 산출하고, 참여형태 제 변인들 간의 관계를 파악하기 위하여 독립표본 t검증과 일원변량 분산분석(One-way ANOVA)를 실시하였고, 자원봉사활동 제 변인들에 대한 만족도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 피어슨 상관분석과 다중회귀분석을 통해 살펴보았다.
본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 청소년 자원봉사활동의 활성화를 위하여 다음과 같은 방안을 제시하고자 한다.
첫째, 청소년 자원봉사활동의 참여형태 중 동아리 참여형태가 자원봉사
활동 만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 청소년 자원봉사활동은 단순히 노동의 대가나 시간 채우기의 방법이 아닌 분야별 전문적 영역으로 확대하고 다양한 형태의 동아리 참여기회를 확대하고 지원해야한다.
둘째, 자원봉사활동 사전교육이 충실하게 이루어질 수 있도록 하는 방안이 마련되어야 한다. 학교나 지역사회 청소년 자원봉사활동 대상기관에서는 학생들이 봉사활동에 참여하기 전에 봉사활동에 필요한 사전교육을 의무적으로 실시하여야 한다.
셋째, 청소년 자원봉사 기관 담당자의 지도와 훈련이 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구결과에서도 기관의 담당직원과의 관계가 청소년 자원봉사활동 만족도에 가장 큰 영향력을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 기관담당자가 자원봉사자를 존중하고 자원봉사자와의 관계가 좋을수록 만족도가 높았다. 청소년들이 자원봉사활동을 긍정적으로 생각하게 만들고 성장하여서도 계속 활동할 수 있도록 기관 담당자의 전문성을 함양시킬 필요가 있다.
넷째, 청소년 자원봉사 관련정보 공유를 위한 네트워크를 확대하여 봉사활동에 대한 정보를 종합적․체계적으로 제공해야 한다. 많은 청소년들이 봉사활동 분야를 선택할 때 필요한 정보를 대부분 스스로, 학교소개 또는 부모님 소개로부터 얻는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 인터넷에서 청소년 자원봉사에 대한 종합적인 정보를 수집 및 제공할 수 있도록 하고, 이들 정보망이 지역사회 교육청, 지방자치단체 및 활동대상 기관들과 네트워크가 되어 활용할 수 있도록 하는 것이 바람직하다.
