어린이 오페라는 음악, 무용, 미술, 문학과 연극을 하나로 뭉쳐내는 종합예술로 오페라가 가지고 있는 특징과 의미를 어린이들에게 쉽고 재미있게 전달하여 유익한 체험이 될 수 있게 한다. 그리고 어린이 관객들의 예술 참여를 유도하는데 있어서 어린이 오페라가 효과적이라는 사실을 많은 공연과 사례에 의해 알게 된다.

어린이 오페라는 인간의 창의성과 능동성을 문화예술 안에서 습득하고 고취시키는 교육적 가치를 내포하고 있고 하나의 가족놀이 문화라고 할 수 있다. 어린이 오페라라는 새로운 장르는 어린이들에게 음악에 대한 이해와 흥미를 일으켜 창조와 예술 활동의 기초가 될 잠재 능력을 개발시킨다. 어린이 오페라를 통한 공연장의 활성화는 어린이와 부모, 가족들이 모두 같이 체험할 수 있고 어린이 오페라에서부터 오페라까지 청중과 지지 기반을 형성할 수 있는 효과를 볼 수 있다는데 그 의미가 있다.

최근 들어 주 5일제의 실시로 여가 시간이 확대됨에 따라 예술교육에 관심이 있는 부모들은 어린이에게 예술에 대한 호기심과 관심을 가지게 하기 위하여 어린이들과 함께 문화예술 공연장을 찾고 있다. 이러한 시기에 새로운 작품들을 어린이 관객들에게 재미있게 관람할 수 있게 해준다면 음악을 통한 어린이 교육은 어린이들의 잠재된 사고력을 높여주게 된다. 유년기에 경험한 부모와의 예술 활동 참여는 성인이 되어 예술상품에 대한 소비를 결정하는 중요한 요인이 된다. 어린이 오페라를 통한 공연장의 활성화는 오페라 계에 종사하는 전문가들에게 공연예술 수요창출을 가능하게 해줄 것이다. 그러므로 어린이 오페라를 통한 활발한 공연은 새로운 예술문화사업의 커다란 기회이다.

본 연구에서는 먼저 오페라에 대한 이해를 위해 오페라의 역사, 구성요소, 종류 그리고 국내 오페라의 공연 현황을 조사하였다. 국내 어린이 오페라의 목적과 내용 그리고 현황을 조사하여 그 문제점들을 밝혀내었다. 그리고 우리나라 보다 먼저 활성화된 독일의 어린이 오페라 역사, 오페라단의 분류와 어린이 오페라를 위한 독일에서 현재 새로 작곡되어 자주 공연되고 있는 오페라 작품들을 조사하였고 마지막으로 독일의 어린이 오페라 전문화와 이를 통한 공연장의 활성화에 대해 사례를 조사하여 분석하였다. 독일의 사례를 조사한 것은 국내 어린이 클래식 음악계와 공연장이 어린이 오페라를 통하여 전문화에 도움이 될 수 있도록 하기 위해서 이다. 앞으로 어린이들이 미래의 꿈을 키우며 건전한 시민으로 성장하도록 전문화된 어린이 오페라는 중요한 역할을 담당하여 우리 문화예술계와 오페라계의 나아갈 방향을 정하는데 도움이 되고자 한다.

Abstract

Relationship of child opera and performance of hall activation
-Successful instance of Germany child opera in center-

This dissertation is written about the relationship child opera and the performance of hall activation, specially about the successful instance of Germany child opera in center. The background of the dissertation is the introducing the child opera. The korean child opera began in a several years ago. But it is not active. The purpose is to show, what child opera is, how can active the child opera and the performance of hall and to develop the strategy for the activation of korean performance halls through the activation of child opera in korea.
First about the opera is scholastic researched. I studied the korean situation in area child opera nowaday and the activation of germany child opera together. I made a survey of opera about: opera history, how it put together, all sorts of opera and the performance situation in korea now. With the investigation of the child opera in germany I would introduce the leading activity of child opera and how it influenced the activation of performance of hall. I surveyed the situation of the child opera in korea, the contents, the present performance conditions and the problem point of our child operatic public performance in korea.
Next I surveyed the successful instance of germany child opera, the leading activation of the child opera in the world. I studied the history of german child opera, classified the child opera groups and introduced the title of performed products in germany. I studied the activation of german child opera, what are the success factors and how effect the activation of the child opera to the performance of hall activation.
The case study led further the successful factors of child opera and the activation of public performance hall. I propose the plan for the activation of child opera and the performance hall activation in korea. This dissertation is not at all for the activation of the child opera, but it seems to make helping the people, who are interested in the child opera and the activation of performance of public hall.
