대학생 자원봉사자의 자원봉사 활동 지속에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Factors Influencing the Duration of University Student Volunteer's Voluntary Activities

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 대학생 자원봉사활동 지속성에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하는 것으로, 어떤 요인들이 대학생들의 자원봉사활동 지속성에 영향을 미치고 있는지 파악하고, 활동지속에 영향을 미치는 요인들의 영향력이 어느 정도인지 분석함으로써 대학생들이 자원봉사활동에 지속적으로 참여할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고, 대학생 자원봉사 활동의 활성화를 위한 방안 모색의 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.
자료수집 방법으로 자기기입식 설문지를 활용하였다. 본 연구의 목적인 대학생 자원봉사활동의 지속성에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 규명하기 위한 설문지의 구성은 독립변수로 활동상황 특성 요인, 활동 관계 요인, 활동 관리 요인, 인구사회학적 요인들에 대한 문항과, 종속변수인 자원봉사활동 지속성(지속의지)에 대한 문항으로 구성되었다.
본 연구에서는 서울시에 소재하고 있는 동대문구, 성북구, 중랑구에 위치한 종합사회복지관 3곳을 선정하여 자원봉사활동 중인 대학생 자원봉사자 150명을 대상으로 조사하였으며, 불성실한 응답을 제외한 125부를 최종분석 자료로 활용하였다. 자료의 통계분석을 위해 SPSS/WIN12.0 통계프로그램을 사용하여 빈도분석, 기술통계분석, t-test와 일원배치식분산분석(One-way ANOVA), 회귀분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구를 통해 분석한 가설을 검증한 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 대학생 자원봉사자의 인구사회학적 특성요인 중에는 지속성에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 대학생 자원봉사자의 활동상황 특성 요인 중 자원봉사활동 참여 동기는 p<.01수준에서 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 준다는 결과를 나타내었다.
셋째, 대학생 자원봉사자의 활동 관계 요인 중 주위사람(가족, 친구), 대상자와의 관계의 경우 지속성에 유의미한 영향을 준다는 결과가 나타났다.
넷째, 대학생 자원봉사자의 활동 관리 요인 중 교육의 경우 지속성에 유의미한 영향을 준다는 결과가 나타났다.
본 연구 결과를 토대로 대학생 자원봉사활동 지속성을 유지하기 위한 실천적 함의와 제언은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 대학생 자원봉사자들의 각각의 참여 동기를 파악하여 자원봉사활동 중 본인의 동기를 충분히 충족시킬 수 있는 자원봉사활동을 할 수 있도록 해야 하며, 그러기 위해서는 자원봉사활동 배치 시 충분히 고려하여 배치되어야 할 것이다.
둘째, 대학생 자원봉사활동 지속성을 유지하기 위해서는 대인관계를 긍정적으로 할 수 있는 교육과 훈련이 필요하다. 또한 대학생 자원봉사자의 가족이나 친구 등 주위사람과 함께 자원봉사활동을 할 수 있는 다양한 기회와 프로그램을 기획하여 주위사람들과 서로 관심을 갖고 자원봉사활동을 하는데 적극적으로 지지해 줄 수 있도록 하는 것 또한 필요로 된다.
셋째, 각 기관에서는 대학생 자원봉사자들의 봉사활동 실천에 도움이 될 수 있는 교육들을 더욱 체계화 하여, 각 봉사활동의 특성에 맞는 교육을 지속적으로 실시하는 것이 필요로 된다.
또한 본 연구 결과를 토대로 대학생 자원봉사활동 지속성을 유지하기 위한 정책적 함의와 제언은 다음과 같다.
첫째, ‘자원봉사의 날’을 각종 기념일 중 하나로 정하는 것이다. 현재 「각종 기념일 등에 관한 규정」으로 정해져 있는 기념일에 ‘자원봉사의 날’을 만들어 전국적 또는 지역적 규모의 행사 등을 통해 자원봉사의 의미를 되새기고, 참여할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 것이다.
둘째, 자원봉사 전문가 양성 교육기관 운영이 필요하다. 자원봉사의 동기에 따른 업무배치와 관리, 자원봉사 활동 실천에 도움을 줄 수 있는 보다 체계화된 교육을 지속적으로 주기 위해서는 자원봉사 담당자의 전문성은 매우 중요하다. 이는 정부차원의 자원봉사 전문가 양성을 하는 교육기관의 필요성을 의미한다. 일정한 교육과 자격을 갖춘 전문가가 자원봉사 담당업무를 맡아 전문적이고 체계적으로 자원봉사활동 관리가 이루어 질 수 있도록 하여야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that affect the continuality of volunteering activities done by university students. In addition to this, the study is to find out which factors affect the continuality of university students' volunteering and to analyze what extent of these factors are effective, thereby presenting solutions how to encourage participation of university students and to provide basic data to encourage volunteer activities done by university students.
For the collection of data, survey which choosed self-entry way was used. In order to examine the factors that affect the continuity of volunteer activities by university students closely, the survey was composed of independent factors and dependent factors. The independent factors were: questions regarding characteristics of activities(activity traits), personal relationships, supervising factors, and social-demographic factors. The dependent factor was the question of will to continue the volunteer activity.
This study selected 3 general social welfare facilities located each at Dongdaemoon, Sungbook, and Joonglang province at Seoul and 150 university student volunteers who were volunteering in these facilities. Total copy of 125 surveys was ultimately used, leaving out 25 insincerely done surveys. For the statistical analysis, SPSS/Win12.0 program was used to execute frequency analysis, descriptive analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA analysis and regression analysis.
The tested results of analyzed hypotheses through this study are as follows:
First, it was proved that no social-demographic factors have meaningful effect on continuity of university students' volunteer activities.
Secondly, among the activity traits of university volunteers, the motive for volunteering was meaningfully effective with the degree of p < .01.
Thirdly, among the personal relationship factors, the relationship between close acquaintances (family, friends) and the volunteer mate has meaningful affect on continuity.
Fourth, education, among the supervising factor of university volunteer also has meaningful effect on continuity.
Based on the results of this study, practicable methods and suggestions are as follows, in order to maintain the continuity of volunteering of university students:
First of all, motives of each student need to be realized so that the volunteer can do voluntary activities that suit his/her motives sufficiently. Therefore, enough amount of consideration should be made before positioning the volunteers.
Secondly, to maintain the continuity of university volunteers, there needs to be education and training to make positive personal relations. Furthermore, it is necessary to plan various opportunities and programs which the volunteers can activity together with family and friends, so that they can fully support the volunteer activity.
Thirdly, each institution or organization needs to systemize educations so that they can help the university volunteers to actually practice voluntary activity. It is also necessary to continuously educate students.
In addition, suggestible policies in order to sustain continuity of university volunteers based on this study are as follows:
First of all, it is necessary to designate the 'volunteer day' as one of national anniversaries. It is to provide opportunities for people to participate in the event and remind the true meaning of volunteer activity, addition to the current Article of 「Provision on all sorts of anniversaries」.
Secondly, there needs to be a training center for volunteer professionals. The role of professionals is very important in order to position volunteers according to their motives and to provide continuous education that will help the volunteers at sites. This implies that there needs to be a government-level of training system and organizations. It is necessary to have volunteer professionals to organize and manage voluntary activities with systematic order.
