A purpose of this study is to investigate satisfaction with early childhood educational institution and to analyze the factors affecting the mother's choice of early childhood educational institution. To describe it in detail, inquired into how is the difference of each variables in the factors affecting the mother's choice of early childhood educational institution who are in public and private kindergartens, and child care centers, and how is the difference of each variables in the level of satisfaction with early childhood educational institution. On th basis of these investigations, this study is to provide information on the mothers. and the data for managing and operating early childhood educational institution.
With the above purpose, the following questions of the study were made.
First, is there the difference of each variables in the mother's choice of early childhood educational institution ?
Second, is there the difference of each variables in the mother satisfaction with early childhood educational institution ?
Third, is there the difference of the mother's perception of improvement and demand for the future offspring's early childhood educational institution ?
The subjects of this study was composed of 384 mothers who have been sending their offsprings to the public and private kindergartens, and child care centers in new towns, H city of Geyonggi-do. For a tool for the study, used the questionnaire of "A Study on the Factors Affecting Mother's Choice of Kindergartens and the Level of its Satisfaction" developed by Lee, Ju Ah(2004), Park Hae Jung(2004), Kim Eun Sil(2007) that was modified and supplemented by the professional's advice to meet the purpose of this study.
For the data processing, analyzed the data with frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation and f-test. The results of this study as follows.
First, in terms of the factors affecting choice that are importantly regarded at the time of the mothers choose, the lower age, the physical environment and parental education were considered the lowest, in contrast, the lower educational background, the more the educational process and special activity were importantly regraded. The high educated parents with more than post-graduate importantly regarded the parental education. The difference in employment was not shown and the difference in the factors of health management, educational process, special activity, physical environment, human environment and parental education was shown in come, however, the lower income in the general management, the more importantly considered.
In a type of early childhood educational institution, the difference in each of early childhood educational institutions was not shown in the factors of health management, educational process, special activity, physical environment, human environment and parental education, however, a meaningful difference in the child care center and private kindergarten was shown in the factors of educational process. Thus, the private kindergarten more importantly regards the educational process than the child care center.
Overall, when choose early childhood educational institution, the public and private kindergarten, and child care center highly considered environment and a high average was shown in order of human environment, general operation, educational process, health management, parental education, and special activity.
Second, in terms of the level of satisfaction with choice of early childhood educational institution, all of general operation, health management, educational process, special activity, physical environment, human environment, and parental education were satisfied regardless of age, educational background an employment. The higher the mother's income, the higher satisfaction in the general operation and physical environment. In terms of the level of satisfaction in the type of early childhood educational institution, the public kindergarten and child care center had a lower satisfaction in the general operation than the private kindergarten. Satisfaction with the special activity in the child care center was higher than the public and private kindergarten. Satisfaction with the physical environment is lower in the private kindergarten than the public kindergarten and child care center.
Third, in the areas that should be improved the most in early childhood educational institution, the public kindergarten needs to improve the number of child and teacher per class, educational process, educational method, and human resource. The private kindergarten needs to improve the number of child and teacher per class, tuition fee, educational process and educational method. The childe care center needs to improve the number of child and teacher per class, human resource and a method of attendance.
