다원화 시대의 도래에 따른 우리나라 장애이해교육의 발전방향 = Our Nation's Directions for the Development of Disability Awareness Education along the Coming of Pluralistic Era

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 장애이해교육의 등장한 배경과 그것이 표방하고 있는 교육적 이념과 오늘날 같은 다원화 사회에서 어떠한 교육적 이념으로 승화되어 발전해야하는지 그 방향을 모색하였으며 우리나라의 경우 비장애아를 위한 장애이해교육, 장애아를 위한 장애이해교육, 부모, 일반성인들을 위한 장애이해교육이 어떠한 형태로 진행되고 있는지 선행 연구 분석을 통해 알아보고 그것이 장애에 대한 감수성과 이해에 미치는 영향을 통해 앞으로 장애이해교육의 발전방향을 알아보는 것을 연구문제로 삼았다.
장애이해교육에 관한 선행 연구 분석 및 관련 자료를 통해 다원화 시대의 도래에 따른 장애이해교육의 발전방향에 관한 연구의 결과를 알아보면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 장애이해교육은 잘못된 장애인식과 편견을 없애기 위해 행해져야하며 사회의 흐름에 따라 변화되어온 장애관을 반영해야 한다.
둘째, 장애이해교육은 비장애아, 장애아, 일반 성인 모두 그 대상이 되어야 하며 장애를 우리사회의 다양성 가운데 하나인 차이로 받아들이는 일반 교양 교육의 이념을 지닌 것으로 재개념화 되어야 한다.
셋째, 장애이해교육을 실시하는 실제적 운영 측면에서 교수 방법이나 프로그램의 개발이 필요하다.
넷째, 다원화된 사회 속에서 살아가는 우리에게 서로 다른 집단의 문화를 동등한 가치로 인식하며 자신이 속하지 않은 문화에 대한 편견을 줄이고 다양한 문화에 대한 이해를 통해 장애가 특정 개인의 문제가 아닌 우리 모두의 문제라는 인식을 갖고 장애를 하나의 독특한 개성으로 받아들이려는 자세가 필요하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to understand the background from which disability awareness education comes out, and its educational principles which stand for, and to seek for the direction to which it should become to sublime and develop with what educational principles in nowaday pluralistic society. Analyzing the existing researches in Korea, we investigated that how disability awareness education for the non-disabled children, one for the disabled children, and one for the general adults are being proceeded.
After understanding what the effect they influence on sensibility and understanding of disability is, we focused to consider the directions for the development of disability awareness education. Analyzing the existing researches on the disability awareness education, related materials, and the directions of its development along the coming pluralistic era, we found the following results.
First, the disability awareness education should be practiced to remove the incorrect disability awareness and its bias. And it must reflect disability view which is being changed along the current social trends. Second, non-disabled children, disabled ones, and general adults all of them must be subject to disability awareness education. And the concept of disability should be reorganized into one character of diverse characters in our society which has general humanistic education principles. Third, it is necessary to develop the instruction methods or programs in its practical management aspects. Fourth, living in the pluralistic society, we need to have an attitude of accepting different people's group culture as having the same value as ours and overcome the bias to the culture which we do not belong to. And by understanding diverse cultures, with the recognition that disability is not a particular person's problem but a matter of concern to all of us, we need to have an attitude of accepting disability as one distinct character in our society
