First, teacher training institutions has gotten increasingly diversified in Korea. Many institutes in Korea offer teacher education: universities of education, colleges of education, general colleges and universities, junior colleges, the Korea National Open University (a broadcast and correspondence university), and graduate schools of education.
Teacher training institutions of China has differences from Korea. General higher teacher education in China aims mainly at the training of secondary school teachers. Normal universities, teacher-training institutes and teacher training colleges enroll graduates from senior secondary schools. Four-year programs are offered for training senior secondary school teachers, 2-year or 3 year programs are mainly to train teachers for junior secondary schools. Besides, postgraduate programs are offered in general higher teacher education institutions. At the same time, general higher teacher education institutions are playing active parts in providing in-service training for secondary school teachers.
Second, teacher education is an important part of Chinese socialist education system. In the last 50 years' of development since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the governments at different levels have given priorities and great cares to teacher education. China has established on the whole a teacher education system that meets the needs of basic education of different types and at different levels. This system fits the specific Chinese situation and consists of independent teacher training institutions as the principle parts supplemented by other educational organizations.

Teacher education continues to follow the socialist orientation and serves for basic education. As the competChinaof s leaderand reform are gradually improved, great development and remarkable achievements have been made in teacher education.

The teaching profession demands a clear set goals, love for profession and obviously the more favourable attitude towards the profession. In this perspective these institution should make painstaking efforts to equip the prospective teachers not only with teaching skills but also try to promote the positive professional attitude in them. Secondary education is an important sub sector of entire education system because it is the most crucial stage of life. The competent, professionally trained and enthusiastic teachers are required to teach at this level. Therefore, a little effort was made to investigate that to what extent different teacher training institutions are successful in developing positive professional attitude of their prospective secondary school teachers.
